    Just dont see that anymore

Ron, you have your pet peeves and I have mine, I'm not saying the National Symbol itself is silly, I am saying total disregard for military regulations and accuracy on the part of a military vehicle collectir hobbiest is. Only thing worse would be an invasion circle added as well.

    Just dont see that anymore

Don't see what? Silly white star and registration numbers incorrectly applied to a NATO painted truck?

XM 118 Info This looks to have electric brakes?

The WWII version of this trailer had electric brakes, so I'm guessing the XM did not have the final version's brake setup. There is a M series electric brake controller kit that clamps to the steering column to adjust the stopping effort. It looks like a soup can with a rheostat knob sticking...

    M1078 4x4 non existent

Take a look at the schematic and correct me if I am wrong. The only circuit specific to the MD3070 is the "N" solenoid, and per the hydraulic schematic, it controls a valve and not a locking collar.

    M1078 4x4 non existent

The interaxle differential mentioned by snotrack is actuated hydraulically, there is a special solenoid for it.

    Truck-Lite LED Headlights----Finally Ordered a set.

Does everyone still think we need the LMC relay drop in when using LEDs? The amp draw is like half of incandescent? Thanks for the pictures, the results are impressive.

    Relocate batteries and air tanks?

No reason you could not put two group 31's end to end in a box between the frame rails, and the tanks there as well.

    M38A1 Wiring Harness

Very true. If you're not made of money you can make your own in a few evenings. Erik's Surplus has the wire, original style Douglas and newer rubber type if originality is not that important to you.

    M38A1 Wiring Harness

For sure you need to replace it. That harness is 65 years old and could result in a fire if there is a short circuit.

What HMMWV Engine did I really get?

Kinda depends on your inspection when you get it. If the lubricants are spotless clean after a run, no sense in changing them. Hard to tell on the cooling system, so a flush in in order. If your batteries are recent Hawkers, get an AGM charger and use them indefinitely. A grease job per the...

Oh that's the Willys Lightning engine. Willys of France never made those.

    Help me ID this

If it's a 4 cylinder, post your pictures on the G503 site and those guys will tell you what it is and the name of the guy that worked in the casting department at Willys the day it was made. WF could be Willys of France, that's all I can suggest.

    No Parking Brakes 1997 M1078

Your rear brakes are not caged. If the truck won't roll with air drained, the problem is as described in post 12. If it WILL roll with air drained, the rear brake wedges are stuck.
