Driveline racket is very likely coming from wheel end spider gears with excessive lash. There is a thread here on adjusting this. Also check the hub lube level.
Don't go on the last day. Was all set to go to the Houston exhibit and called to verify it was open and they told me they just packed up for the next city.
Welcome RedBarnes. The M880 series which includes the 890 2WD truck only were 1976 and 1977 models. While yours is nearly the same thing, it was not part of that contract.
Should make an excellent reliable daily driver.
Oh heck Garrett, Steelsoldiers is as amusing as ever. Now we have "how do I remove the blinker from my HMMWV" and "my LMTV transmission won't drive anymore after I took the front driveshaft off". Glad you're doing OK. Passed through Dry Creek on my way to Alexandria a month ago, but didn't...
Most vendors will not be paint and body experts so I don't think it's reasonable to expect they can tell you how many gallons to buy to paint a HMMWV. If you want a Kermit the frog colored glossy HMMWV, paint it with Gillespie. If you want the factory color in a CARC substitute, but American...

What most of us do is take caliper diameter measurements of the oil seal bore and shaft ride surface and go to our local bearing supply house and let them figure it out.
Welcome. PLEASE dont buy a toyota. I would disconnect the drag link and see if it's the steering box binding or the axle king pin bearings. Then whichever will need disassembly and lubrication. Should steer fairly easily.
Did you call White Owl Parts? Sam Winer Motors? Lotsa parts available for these engines. Problem is nobody sells very many of them so they are typically not advertised.
Yes, if your truck has the heavy channel with loops right behind the cab, it has been converted into a shelter carrier. Shelters look cool but they make the truck a bit top heavy and create a lot of wind drag. Also, troop seats and shelter brackets are mutually exclusive accessories.
