Well, I made some good headway & have been documenting via video. But, ran into in issue.
Loaded it up to about 80% load, over about 10 min. It was taking it good, but after about 5 min, I could tell it wasn't happy and slowly was loosing power. Just as I walked up to it, it was about to...
Actually, it's not. It's silicone. So, it may swell a bit with diesel but it won't harden & get brittle like PVC. It's made for performance intake & turbo applications. I use them often on vehicles and they do last & hold up well.
Got the generator off of the trailer.
Removed all the panels that were damaged as well as the one to have access to the fuel tank.
Should be able to work the sheet metal and door back to acceptable. Nothing inside looks bad as I suspected.
Ordered the proper Optima batteries for it & made a...
Well, as of yesterday, this unit is at it's new home in the Texas hill country.
It ended up getting mounted on a M1101 chassis trailer I had & was sold with it.
Used the Light Material Handling Crane (LMHC) I just got fixed up for my M1078 to remove the MEP 803A from the trailer and install...
Yeah, I'm happy about it! I'm going to put this one on a trailer now I think, and put the one I've had on a trailer for years on a nice deck out at my off grid place.
Small steps to make things easier.
Well, put the new fuel sender in. Wasn't it! But, here was the process...
You have to set the new one up to match the old one. Takes a little while, but nothing major.

Before you remove the old one, make a mark to where the orientation is, and...
I should have added above, here are some links to the filters I ordered;

So, after about two hours, I found the issue. Probably was the problem all along.
I didn't take a picture, but it was the 90deg 4an fitting at the fuel pickup. I don't recall loosening it at all, but it was loose. So, it was sucking some air. Tightened it up, let it purge, and it ran fine...
Well, I was hoping that this project would be done, but it taking a not so fun turn. Hoping it's something simple.
Replaced filters. As I was letting it prime up, the electric pump made some bad noises. It was the original, and the square ones are not the best, so I figured I would change it...
Yes, I fabricated it for the LMHC on my LMTV since I need to get the generators as close to the boom as possible to get in the bed as it's a small crane.
Honestly, I have only used it to tug, but will be testing it soon. No doubt it will work great. Made from all scrap stuff.
Will share a...
So, Got it all back together. I managed to drive the bearing on a bit more.
Put everything back the way it should be. Used a take off, much nicer cover for the generator head that was from a part out unit. I think I mentioned that I saved it earlier in the thread.
Used new hardware along the...
So, got the bearing on. But, it's not on quite as far as the other one was. I'm not sure if this is an issue though. To me, it seems like it can be the way it is, as long as it is making contact fully on both surfaces of the bearing to make support.
NOTE: In the picture, it's sticking slightly...
