I’ve been running a Detroit locker in the rear of mine for 5 years with over 5,000 mile on the road and I don’t even realize it’s in there except for the rare occasion while make a slow turn in a parking lot and I accelerate a little to much and the locker locks up and makes a clunk noise which...
Probably because it’s in fairly good condition and runs. Then probably 2 people wanted it that lived near the pickup location so the bidding war started.
So I’ve read if you know the right person you can get the electronic copy of the manual, but you you’ll need an old computer running windows XP to open it and use it.
Disconnecting the positive on the battery does nothing. If that theory is correct then you have to consider that everything is DC which means a positive and negative is required for all the electronics and if you don’t remove all the negative ground points to all the electronics there is still a...
Yes the ECM has a battery in it, I know because when it the battery in my ECM died I had to pay Caterpillar a lot of money for a new ECM and for them to reprogram it. When it happens it it causes a crank and no start situation.
I’ve welded on my LMTV many times along with welded on many other vehicles and equipment never disconnecting the batteries, sometimes even when the tractor is running. Never had a problem with electronics. Just be careful what’s on the other side of where you’re welding because the heat will...
Absolutely the best in all those categories.
I think our trucks were built with McMaster parts.
always the best quality and great description of the product unlike Amazon.
They truly don’t need the air foil. Before I decided to put my mini split A/C unit in the middle behind the cab just above the roof line. I was concerned going 60 mph that the wind blowing into it would cause problems manly because the directions say not to allow more than a 10 mph wind to blow...
I bought my 2003 M1078A1 5 years and have driven it over 5,000 miles. 2,000 miles at top speed of 58MPH and RPMs screaming at you with the original gears and got 3.5-4 MPG.
I changed the ring and pinions out added a rear locker and had CAT reprogram it to 330 HP. Driven it with this...
I had a similar problem, I’ve owned the truck for over 5 years driven it almost 10,000 miles the one time a short 7 mile trip after parking found gear oil leaking out of the vent tube pretty badly checked all the normal stuff cleaned it all up and it hasn’t happen again. Never could come up with...
How many gallons did that add to the tank?
I decided to weld a whole new tank actually 2 tanks. I built the big one taller and much longer making it 185 gallons and the small one is 40 gallons.
Has anyone purchased that laptop and data port from kt3406e? I’m seriously considering it. If it is everything he says it is it would be a great tool for someone like me that does all of my own repairs.
My ECM failed me as well years ago. At that time I couldn’t find anyone that I trusted to do the repair so I bit the bullet and purchased a new one from CAT and then it was on them to program it at they even upped my horse power to 330. Any ways it might just be they didn’t fully repair your...
