MTV fuel tank modification/tunnel delete

I have not seen this done yet, but we thought we would try it- to extend our range from 1152 miles to 1320 (est. )

This involves welding new curvature to the *tunnels of the stock tanks.

Ive got 2 fmtv tanks bolted close together.
and wanted to avoid another 365$ to 400 a tank. I can weld cheaper!

Hmmm. what's the dimensions of that 81 gallon tank? Maybe I can massage it into my lmtv as a cheaper alternative to an additional tank.

100$ for a 939 T? Great price.
( i paid 125$ for my spare, but that was ions ago.)

How many gallons did that add to the tank?
I decided to weld a whole new tank actually 2 tanks. I built the big one taller and much longer making it 185 gallons and the small one is 40 gallons.

after removing my two milspec tanks, I envisioned exactly what you built- Love it.

I wanted to be sure I had separate units, in case of a puncture..
I have not broken out my liquid calculator yet, to figure the exact increase, im still working on it. Ill post it up as soon as I have an exact spec.

Did that a couple years ago. Left the original tunnel with some big holes in it as a baffle.
I did notch the back to clear the spring shackle because this became the auxiliary tank.
