Hello everybody. This is my first post in the HMMWV forum and I need to request assistance.
I mounted 12-bolts on my CUCV and am having issues with the wheels losing air. I purchased 6 12-bolt wheels from a reputable SS vendor and media blasted them inside and out. I then primed and...
Does anybody know if the cable linkage is still available for the 700R4 brackets? It seems there are several sources for the bracket only without the cable. If the cable were still available these brackets would be complete and useable. A GM part number would be helpful.
Thanks.
I already have cross-over steering, and now plan on installing ORD's high-steer and hydraulic assist unit which draws it's fluid power from the power steering pump. Since my pump is 31 years old, I considered replacing it to handle the extra load, and was wondering if there is a higher volume...
I was scrolling through the HMMWV section of SS and came across these photos which seem to show a TV bracket. Anybody know if this can be retrofitted to a 6.2, and for a 700R4 cable?
Getting ready to install a 700R4 transmission in my M1028.
Does anybody have a photo, or better yet, a GM part number for the TV cable bracket on a 6.2?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I seem to recall an old thread (which I cannot re-locate) about installing an electric coolant fan and removing the engine-driven fan. In the thread, the Op indicated that the electric fan (or maybe it was two small fans) was mounted to the radiator in a shroud and operated off a thermostat...
I am putting together a set of 12-bolt HMMWV wheels to run on my M1028 during the summer months. I understand that I need to run 2" spacers on the front to compensate for the wheel's offset, and I also intend to run the spacers on the rear for proper tire tracking and looks.
The spacers are...
I would like to install some insulation and sound deadening material to the back of the cab behind the seat in my M1028. I considered applying some peel & stick such as DynaMat or FatMat, however it seems like something else should be applied over this such as carpet or something to hide the...
I plan on installing a 3000 watt Pure Sine power inverter in my M1028 to provide 120 volt AC to power electronic equipment during emergency situations. AIMS offers these with DC imputs of both 12 and 24 volt. http://www.theinverterstore.com/3000-watt-24-volt-pure-sine-wave-inverter.html...
I would like to improve the storage capability behind my M1028 bench seat. What are some ideas to store extra equipment, guns & ammo, liquid refreshments, etc.? Are there any after-market racks available?
Thanks in advance for your posts.
I plan to purchase and install a new HMMWV MileMarker hydraulic winch between the frame rails behind the front bumper of my M1028. These units obtain their hydraulic fluid (and power) from the engine's power steering pump. Because my pump is original and 30 years old, I had planned on...
A while back there was a thread regarding the installation of a HMMWV Throttle Control kit on a CUCV. I have searched until I am blue in the face and cannot find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Ok I have searched and read and searched and read and searched and read some more and still cannot find answers.
I love my custom 11.00/20 wheels and NDT tires for highway use. However for off road use there just isn't enough room under my fenders for articulation. So I plan to put together a...
Guys (and gals), I was cruising the other SS threads and came across a Military Vehicle-Of-The-Month thread. The OP indicated that there were to be only 20 trucks nominated and he already had 19, so I figured What the Heck I would nominate my M1028. Well it seems my CUCV is up against a bunch...
Hello everyone. I am thinking about obtaining a genset for emergency power for my home during outages (probably what everybody wants). I am completely dumb regarding the different models and outputs, and was wondering if there is a list somewhere that shows the different specs of each model...
My 1984 Arizona National Guard M1028 has only 12,945 miles and the 30-year-old alternators have never been rebuilt. Those of you who have followed my rebuild thread know that, since 2010, I have rebuilt or restored just about everything on my truck and have only driven it approximately 600...
