All of the M939 series trucks start in first gear. FMTVs start out in second gear unless you manually move the transmission into first before starting out.

I suggest you specify what you need moved to see who can help. It would help to know what kind of vehicle would be needed to move stuff from the outdoor site to 2801 WCN Drive. Also, when this would need to be done would be helpful.

Welcome to the site. It sounds like it is a 1996 M1078. My suggestion is to get it hauled. Better to learn about the truck when it is in your driveway, as opposed to on the side of the road. Good luck!

Were your high and low beams working in both headlights previously?

I think the brakes should release well before reaching 118 pounds. The air governor may be on the firewall. Find it on your truck and then send them a picture of it. I am not positive it will look identical, but I wouldn't doubt it either.

They are fairly uncommon. Midwest Military had one that they sold. Perhaps, they could put you in touch with the buyer.

You are making a valid point about the rust. The water weeps through during a heavy rain, but I recognize that it has to eat away at the metal over time. I should probably address it.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like you are doing a nice job of taking care of a common problem. One of my trucks has a slight drip during a heavy rain. It has not gotten to the point where I want to tackle the job.

They do make vinyl paint. You could try that. Ask the people on this site...I know others have tried to paint vinyl and they could tell you how well it worked, and the good paint products.
