I think I'll put the 395s on as well. Is there any evidence that bad things will happen? Show me .
If there is one concept that I could point to that explains the success I've had in my Engineering career its : Lots of things that aren't supposed to work do anyway."
All the driver side tires are flat. These tires are all junk, I have a set of new 395s to put on it. I've moved it around abit with 4 flats, to get it out of where it is and into service. Other than dog-tracking funny, it doesn't seem to mind 8<)
So, judging from the engine decal and the serial number, its a 1993 ? It has the one piece hood. Dash pic of it running, though it hasn't warmed up yet.
When you published this thread, YOUNG GUN, I saw the pic of your A3 on the shore line and said to myself " I gotta get one of those." So I got one. It doesn't have a winch yet or 395's but thats in the plan, 395s first. Thanks for the inspiration 8<) I'll get pix tomorrow.
So I had a 1966-ish M109 multifuel, got out of it and into a M1009 CUCV, now I'm getting out of the Blazer and into a '99 A3. I loooove the sound of that CAT purring 8<).

Jack's Government Surplus, here in Tucson, has at least 30 of them. Thats where I got mine. He sells them with the End Use paperwork done, vehicle DOT inspected, and clean AZ title. Not cheap though, I paid $8500 for mine road ready w/ warranty. I told Jack that when I took delivery I was...
I used air lines. The standard hardware store type ferrules had to be modified on the back side with a dremel tool so they would seat far enough into the fitting. No problems, low cost.
For my next project. I understand the deuce can pull the trailer, but I'd like to have lots of design margin = 5 ton. Just thinking for now.....gonna go look at at tractor...just look <wink>
