I never realized double-clutching affected transfer cases. I can't double-clutch my automatic, though :p I'll have to pull the doghouse at some point and take a closer look.

Is it possible to shift ranges while the truck is moving? The gear speed limit dataplate makes it seem like it's possible, but I've only ever been able to shift it while the truck is stationary.

I like the fact it has dual-circuit brakes the most. Otherwise I wouldn't mind an air force A2. I miss driving a manual transmission!

I'd love to have a M108 crane truck and a M105 trailer to tow behind it. I'd load the trailer with the crane ;) My dad used to have an M108 probably 25 years ago. He sold it because the crane machinery was well-corroded and he didn't want to replace it himself.

I would take it to your local Allison shop. The Penn Power Group here quoted me $250-$300 to flush the system and fill it with Dexron III. But if you don't want to spend that money, a forum search will spell out the DIY flushing process for you. Automatic transmissions aren't exactly my forte...
