Kaysville (Northern UT) Independence Day Parade

Hey there Steel Soldiers! I know there's lots of Northern Utah towns with their own parade sometime during the Independence Day weekend, but if you happen to be anywhere near Kaysville, I'll be having my truck in the parade on the 4th. Info about Kaysville City's Independence Day celebration...

Lashing down Cargo cover..how many feet of "Super Rope" are needed?

Thanks! I suspected as much, because once I've started paying attention to how other's have secured their cargo covers, most (from what I can tell) have just looped the super rope under the bed lashing points.

Lashing down Cargo cover..how many feet of "Super Rope" are needed?

I actually took it to local canvas shop and had them sew it up. The place made custom boat covers and tarps. While they couldn't match the color at all, my cargo cover is olive drab and what appears that that the military painted a woodland camo pattern on the outside. The canvas shop used...

Lashing down Cargo cover..how many feet of "Super Rope" are needed?

So I've finally got my hands on a cago cover from Hooty481, and got it patched up to be pefectly servicable! However, I still need to get some of the rubber ("super") rope. I think Erik's Military surplus might be a little expensive, but there's a few other things I need to get there too...

    Reattaching the Engine Stop Handle

I was afraid of that! I wouldn't think that super glue would hold, but I have not tried it. I wanted to save the 'messy' solution for last. HOWEVER! I like your idea of drilling a small hole and using a set screw or pin. I should have thought of that. Thank you for being the brains of...

    Reattaching the Engine Stop Handle

The handle on my "Engine Stop" cable has come off. I've tried using the dead blow to re-seat it but that only lasted a couple of uses. Have any of you encountered this problem and been able to fix it? The vice grips on the cable end are just so much less elegant! It is Number 2 in the...

    Solargizer

Nice clean under the hoot mounting. Cool! Hmm, do you have any idea how to test one of these? I just bought one and was trying to test the output to verify that it worked before I connected it to my truck, but I got zero Voltage or current readings. No light blinkings either. Of course...

Looks like he's just posted his ad  Lightweight Weapons Station for the M939 Series - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite And I found his second one on e-bay...

Oil Filter change, spring & cup

Gaskets on top of the filters? The manual doesn't show a gasket on top of the filter, unless you mean the one between the center post and filter housing body. I did change that one. It had the look of being reused a few times. The 2 local auto parts stores didn't have a gasket that fit, so I...

Oil Filter change, spring & cup

Thanks for the reply! I apologize though, I didn't explain my photos. The first one (1 of 3, titled "photo(2).jpg") is where the metal cup lip is IN the filter. Is that what you mean? I'm just trying to make sure because to me, the picture on the right (2 of 3) is where the lip point out of...

Oil Filter change, spring & cup

Today the Deuce got it's first oil change (well, by me). It didn't look too bad; no other engine fluids in the oil as far as I can tell. So I'm pleased enough about that :) (I'm not using the fancy spin on filters) On top of the oil filter there is a metal cup and spring. My question is...

    Spare Tire

What's a BII? I'm envious of your supplied tire irons, my truck didn't come with any irons so I'll have to put something together...

    Spare Tire

I suspected as much! I'm not too big stacking like that, or on carrying an 8x8 (or whatever I'd need). What if the flat is one of the tires in the duallies in the rear? If I was empty (i.e.: no load) could I not change the flat and just limp home? I can understand that it might depend on...

    Spare Tire

Hey all! I apologize, I'm still as green as summer peas as owning a deuce is concerned (and pretty green at working on vehicles in general), but I'm just trying to make sure I'm prepared for a road-side flat. I'm just wondering what everyone uses to lower their spare tire with? I saw a video...

    Military Fire Trucks

So I've been watching this ad on a local news website for sometime. They seem to be motivated sellers, the price has come down a bit and now they've listed the Fire Truck as "OBO". I haven't looked at it in person nor have I contacted the seller. I wouldn't know what to do with it! The fire...

    What makes a VIC-1

Thanks for the reply! I have a CX-13089 (Bendix Connector Assembly I think it's called) that'll go from the 3-pin output on the MX-7777 to the J508 port on the AM-1780 amplifier. But I hadn't thought about using the mount in-case I didn't have (or didn't want to get) a single cable that was...

    What makes a VIC-1

Not to bump an old thread, but Mr. CARNAC, how in the world do you use that Mount with the VIC-1? I happen to have both (mount and VIC-1) but to me, i don't see how the VIC-1 would even make use of it... Or are you just meaning other radios in conjunction with the VIC will use the mount? Thanks.
