they had the highest output lds engine made, i may misremember but i thought 202 hp. but with an automatic and with that weight vehicle about as fast as a non turbo deuce. the slightest hill was also a problem. on the other hand they would go anywhere a tracked vehicle would go.
apart from the novelity, why would anyone want one? very poor mileage, low on power, top speed 45 only if you push it real hard. not to mention almost no spare parts anymore and a 40 year old allison 6 speed auto with no overdrive......... oh and a rats nest of plumbing tor the very poor wedge...
2800 rpm govenor is not something anyone should want. way past red line. will break something eventually. head can be swapped in about an hour, for pump start with removing radiator.

pinion brakes are for parking only. they are very dangerous if applied while moving. they don't stop the wheel just the driveshaft, one wheel may spin backwards while the other goes forward = no control.
from what you say, you pulled the shut off cable and it stopped. the problem is that the fuel rate slider is now at no fuel. it is stuck. the shaft and tip that goes in the fuel rate slider must be very free. from your past posts it was not and you have a problem in the ip head you put on.
this is why my od gear set is better than adding higher ratio to the diffs or taller tires. all gears are the same except for 5th. 65 mph is no problem and average hills don't make much difference with the fuel turned up.
