First off, get the best deal you can for what you want. I could buy $89 Chinese Delco clones and resell them to you for the 250, but you guys can do that yourself without a markup. So instead, I bring over 24v high output 130 amp non-Chinese units from the European market where they utilized...
I didn't sell SD that alternator, I just advised him about it and fitment/wiring/etc. He was kind of surprised I talked him through it even though it didn't come from me. I don't really care, mine are pricy and I don't blame people for going elsewhere to get a better deal, we all do it. The...
Nice thing here about changing to any alt besides the mil one is that it will not over-volt on an "incorrect" shut down procedure. You won't zap your ABS, PCB, or anything else that has letters in it. The alt above can be ran as a single wire unit, meaning it just has a single large red...
Thanks for the pics. So, does the bracket already have the hole in it to install a second detent switch for reverse (but the military never used one)? Also, since both switches are NO (Normally Open), could one just acquire a second neutral safety switch and it would therefore have the correct...
Upon looking at the posted mil part number (thanks), it seems the same can be acquired from Summit Racing for $30 and includes the bracket which holds this detent switch, making it an easy install...
Yep, thanks. I was considering to go the safety vs tempered glass route. Windshield (safety glass, plastic laminate both sides) is crazy strong. I stood on the hood of a car in the junkyard as a kid and threw an alternator at one, and it just bounced and hit me in the shin with shorts on...
When you had water in the jug it was probably emptier. With solvent in the jug, I'm guessing it was more full and the pressure could rise much quicker and faster.
Slid the rear slider window open in the hard top (driver side panel slid toward pass), was driving down freeway @ 67mph with 13,000lb of boxed parts in the bed, and 20 minutes later I see the rear glass panel in the half I slid open is completely shattered like tempered glass does. No holes in...
See if the starter is causing it. Loosen and prepare to quickly disconnect the small starter signal wire. Crank the truck and once you release and have the starter stick on, quickly pull the small starter signal wire off. If the starter stays stuck on, then it is the starter solenoid contacts...
Mine does the same thing as pictured. Blows the ring off the top. I'd like to retain the original system vs go to a pump, but it would be really nice if it could be made to hold and use a 1 gallon washer fluid bottle directly. No filling, just change it out. The top flies off because of the...
You could convert it over to single switch like an automobile. Have the 3 position ignition switch do all, ditch the battery switch. Just off-on-start.
Just got a report in that the p/n I have posted here for the civilian alternator bracket for the Cummins 250 (855) engine is a no-fit situation. My sources may be incorrect. Can anybody else confirm this either way? Thanks in advance, I want to take down or correct errant data if so.
Good thing you are not handler of the air impact on any NASCAR pit teams, it is taking you a month to put LED tail lights on. Quit working on Skeletor's lawnmower and let us know what's up with this snorkel, Cletus.
Unlabeled and unpainted switch/light/diag panel, along with the use of a store bought curved exhaust pipe as a radiator hose adapter indicate it is not mass production. 260hp is only 20 more, nothing to get that excited over vs being kind of hacked into there, just my opinion. Cool to see...
