That's very good should be able to tell if the new engine has any problems that stand out. I am glad someone thought to save that oil because I did not. I have learned something.

Andy would it not be easier to just right now check cam and cam bearings. Before motor gets KIA. Or would checking the oil that was in it for the bearing material.

So everyone with that engine with for sure unknown mileage or time on engine had better pull cam and check for bearing wear or cam shaft wear.

I would still hook the winch up and try to get it to slip by pulling. Spray some more lube in it.
