    MEP 803 buyer guide/video

Well, for fun, I looked within a 1,000 miles of the west coast, and $4-10k seemed to cover the prices for me, but they say timing is everything, and "location, location, location". Around here, things got pretty cheap around 2020, but I didn't see $1,200/803 cheap. I've seen GP prices in AZ...

They come in lots of sizes/strengths; https://www.turn-lock.com/ Also known as Camloc, I believe for a certain style.

Mep004 circuit to replace faulty voltage regulator. This was designed by member peapvp for use until he could rebuild and update the operating l.

I'm sure that @peapvp can explain it better, but if you head over to the data sheet and the owner's manual for the ADVR-54, there are limits on the current and power for the field circuit (F+ & F-). The relay and the other pieces are to flash the coil to help start the generation process...

    Questions MEP803a

Here's a fuel filter thread that goes over the final filter assembly that might help. It helped me. (Along with @uniquify's other posts! I found @Guyfang's trick with spinning the fuel filter just before it is tight to be invaluable for seating the upper o-ring on the housing which is both tiny...

    Questions MEP803a

On the fuel filter, there should be a small o-ring (Dash-202 size?) on the screw stem or it can leak fuel or air. You want one in place. If your existing one is hard / dry / cracked, I would replace it. All the best, 2Pbfeet

    MEP005A frequency meter not working.

FWIW: I use a small panel mount digital frequency meter that I wired to a short extension cord, and put a heat shrink cover on the terminals to keep an eye on my generators. It is bright, easy to read, and portable. If I'm not at the generator when it is in use, I plug it in near me in the...

    76761 N1307 280 amp 28v,how to wire?For a 28v generator

I am sorry, but I can't help you the connector. I'm the wrong guy for 535 details. I just was interested in your questions and did some poking around. I've been known to walk the aisle in auto parts stores looking for matching connectors, but I'm sure that other folks here can do better than...

    Old NAVY 10 kw Genset?

I've driven by Ft. Lewis. Pretty area! I've driven by many of the locations in the video, actually. I enjoy seeing the history. All the best, 2Pbfeet

    Old NAVY 10 kw Genset?

If you want to see these sort of saws (not on a generator) look like from WWII, DeWalt has an old promotional video; I caneasily imagine SeaBees setting up a similar, though perhaps smaller operation with it. All the best, 2Pbfeet

    Old NAVY 10 kw Genset?

@Chainbreaker A 16" radial arm saw is going to need a pretty substantial motor. I have seen a number of that size and vintage radial arm saws with five and ten HP motors on them, always three phase. That is scary powerful in my book...

    Questions MEP803a

If you go the break in oil route, change the oil and oil filter again at 100 hours. I have done it on a few engines that I either didn't know the history of, or had doubts about the cleanliness (dirt / casting sand, etc.) of the engine. I agree with @Ray70 that you can't have too much ZDOP added...

    MEP-002a only outputting 125v

If you need more wire, I believe that the type of wire that you are looking for "TGGT", aka Teflon-Glass-Glass-Teflon covered nickel coated copper wire. While perhaps not stocked in a basic box store, it is sold by a number of cable vendors, eBay, Amazon, and others. Just know the gauge wire...

Introduction and a question about my MEP 802a

There is an older thread that suggests that pump; https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/802-803-fuel-pump-fittings.184917/post-2477378 My recollection is that @DieselAddict here talked to Airtex/Carter and got the skinny on the replacement...

Automatic / Manual Fieldflash with aftermarket AVR on MEP004A / 005A

Congratulations on your fix, and getting it running! If it were me, I would think about a small overcoat of conformable sealant to help protect the longevity of your board and repair. There a number available, but I don't know what your board might benefit from. (I don't know what is on there...
