Surprised nobody mentioned thermostat. Is the engine running at 180F? A diesel will almost not even warm up at idle with no load. I changed my thermostat, and flushed the heater core, still no heat. A buddy said to change the heater core and that did the trick, even though it flowed well...

If you are trying to reach target pressures at idle, the system can time-out if leaks in the air tank system are prevalent or you air governor threshold is set too low. Raise idle to 1500rpm with the cable or try it while driving.
