Will also depend on how much cash he has or wants to shake loose. The series are typically increased in price according to revision level.
Though I have seen it before, that was a nice chart 98 took time to pound out (even though I say buy an A2 if you can stretch your dollars to grab one!).
It should just be the gov springs. Undo your changes one by one, and you should uncover it. The gov springs are more complicated than they appear, in that there is a lot of tuning between them and the flyweights, including response time to recover dropping RPM (idle speed recovery and...
Put everything back how it was. :)
Seriously, if multiple changes are made simultaneously, it becomes impossible to quantify which the negative aspect is associated with. Best guess would be your governor springs, move them back one click each so they are only 2 clicks tightened instead of 3...
Additional data is A2's get 10mpg and fly 67mph stock. A1's and first gen get 4mpg. First gen won't reach 67mph in stock form.
Guess which one I have...
I will speak to the Dana/Spicer CTIS tech person on Monday. I may also want to beg/borrow/buy an xMTV vehicle CTIS module and try that. It seems to be the same module with the button text inverted. It may have the communication board within it.
You are all correct. I have not performed this yet. My wife's father died unexpectedly, so I will not have any updates until Christmas break. Lots to sort, named executor of the will, her family is fighting and grabbing things, the usual mess....ugh.
I'm also in Livonia, MI. I have an M925A2 and tow bar. PM me, I will give you my cell number before you go. I could tow you back if something happens. I have a couple years of M939 5 ton experience.
Michigan legally allows you the drive back from point of vehicle purchase without plates...
What engine and what is the coldest temp it will be started, un-assisted (no jump, block heater, or ether)? The 250 engine is an older design and nearly twice the displacement of the 8.3 (855 vs 505 cubic inches). It requires more power to start.
CCA is kind of a shade tree rating of...
Correct, you can't communicate with it. Or, at least I could not with mine, and I gave it a full fledged effort. There is a disclaimer in the Spicer/Dana diag manual, on the M939 series wiring diagram page, that specifically says the diagnostic communication lines may not be present on all...
The 8.3 fires so quickly, I ripped out my 4 great working 6TL's and sold them to smittyjr355 for $10 each. Dropped down to 2 group 31's to gain much wanted dry storage cab space. I'd drop down to even one battery if they were 24v each! Still fires up great in cold MI winters.
It sounds like...
Thanks CARNAC, that was very polite to do.
On things like this, the owner can often be wrong, in maybe it is the alternator squeaking, tensioner squeaking, fan clutch, etc.... If it is just lightly squaeking, then it will drive fine for a while. Fix at home. Otherwise, take the belt off...
Just leave the hood off. That is what we did after engine rebuild in high school, but you have to have the yellow Accel plug wires to be doing so with any style.
Congrats on 75mph! I owned my first M35A2 for only a week because it would not go over 50mph without threatening to throw the rods out the bottom. Bought a 925A2 and those roll 67mph on the governor @ 2150rpm.
Shifter kart (250cc dirt bike class, front/rear disc) can do 0-100-0mph in 10.0...
I sell new upgraded lightweight gear reduction starters in 12v and 24v, just sayin'........
The starter solenoid does 2 things: It throws out the pinion gear to engage with the flywheel teeth, and it also closes the contacts supplying battery power to the actual starter motor it is attached to...
