8.3 is good for 3400rpm minimum (marine app). Military spec governor pulls fuel rack back at 2200rpm. Looks like it dropped a valve? I run my 925a2 @ 67mph for hours on end. Same power/drive train. Love carnage pics!
Cummins is headquartered in the US. Over 55% of their market is outside the US. They source castings and parts from all corners of the world. They are truly a global company.
It is common for people to place China and Japan in the same category of quality, but the opposite is actually the...
That's good enough reason right there! Anything with a spooling turbo sounds like it is going to rip the guts out of whatever it is hooked to. 300F is a fabulous drop, that sounds like in increase in reliability to me... It will help to prevent this (advance to 2:03 for the fabulously funny...
Is the pump OK with this not present? Is there a lever inside that pushes on the switch, or is it simply a fluid pressure? If a mechanical push, I'd ask around about it more. If a fluid pressure switch, I would just plug it. Well, actually, I live in MI and would replace the switch. We get...
Stuff a Road Ranger under there, and then we'll know it is possible and can follow suit. I don't think anybody here has done it yet. Real vehicles have 3 pedals, so I say do it and report back.
New Carter brand lift pump on eBay is $25 and free shipping. They do sell the primer button cover separate, but at that price, I changed my entire pump. Gravy job. Bolt pattern seems almost same as a Chevy 350.
Did you crack open an air bleed after the pump when priming? There is a...
Did they keep the headlights? Love the part where the gauge falls down inside in the dash opening when the camera comes around. Wish I was there, it's a riot to crank up old treasures. I hit the starter for 1/2 a second on an old Detroit Diesel 6-71 to see if it was locked up, and it started...
You can also build a simple pre-lube device from a small Freon tank, and a couple of air fittings/valves. Fill jug 50% with oil, pressurize it, flip it over, connect it to the oil sender port, then open the valve. Air pressure will push the oil into the engine.
Input appreciated for anybody that has experience. Thanks:

Seeking opinions of Dialight vs Grote front LED indicator lights. I have both, and want to upgrade my 925 with them in place of the conventional bulb signals, but there appears to be a somewhat significant difference between the appearance of the two. For example, the Dialight seems to have a...
GR, are you still looking for K type thermocouples? I have some I can send to you. Diameter of them affects their response time if that is important to you. I'm guessing 7 years later you may have them by now though!
Just ran some tests on the stock 60A alternator on my 5 ton M925A2. Not sure, but I think your group runs this same alternator, and if so I hope this data can be useful:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144500-Performance-Output-Measurements-of-Stock-60A-Alternator&p=1766374#post1766374
Brought home a DC load bank and clamp on DC ammeter this weekend to measure the output of a stock military 60A alternator. Ambient air was 47F, and the measurements were done with the engine and alternator cold. Output will be lower as alternator warms. Measurements were done with calibrated...
