James, I have to concur with M16TY...don't bother yourself with filing a complain with GL. If you got any satisfaction, you will be the first person that I know of on this forum who has had a positive outcome. They did absolutely nothing for me on one complaint...AND THEY AGREED THAT I WAS...
The M932 that I got previously was a USAF truck and was kept in a hangar. The truck only had rust on the hard top and the rest of the truck was clean sheet metal. This truck did look like it had some corrosion.
Yes, the lunette will fit in the pintle hitch on the back of your truck. I don't know anything about the number of filaments, but I think converting the trailer to 12V is as simple as swapping out the bulbs for 12V bulbs. The only issue you may run into is the trailer is heavy...and may tend...
I should add that you also need to either know who to call or do a lot of leg work figuring it out. There are a lot of parties that need to get involved...the wrecker company, the company that will either get your truck running or put it into a container, the company that will move the...
Absolutely...trucks go cheaper in HI. However, by the time you figure the cost of shipping and trucking, you usually don't save any money and often pay more. The reason for doing it...sometimes there are trucks there that are not available here. I got the tractor pictured above out of HI in...
Truth be told...I was considering it and I have previously gotten a truck out of Hawaii. It is costly...and a lot of trouble...but it can be done. Here is another truck that I got previously...
Don, make sure you remind the wrecker driver to put the t-case in neutral. Joe Young once had a truck delivered with the t-case in low range! You can imagine all the damage that did.
I hate to say it but being short on cash will make it difficult for you to find rims. I believe they go for $200 each or so. The rims are getting rare. Since you are in OH, I suggest that you call Sam Winer, but, truthfully, I think they are gonna be expensive.
John has some wise words. Sometimes the trucks that don't look the prettiest say the cheapest and are the best buys. Everyone wants the pretty truck. A friend of mine used to have a saying about picking the best of the ugly chicks early in the evening and that way he would always be...
Gillespie makes a good paint. The CARC is cool because it is authentic and for that reason I often use it, but, as a paint covering, it is probably not the greatest. It fades fairly quickly and is easy to scuff. Don't get me wrong...I like the CARC...but Gillespie is good, too.
HOT ROD DEUCE: I wonder if you could remove the rear cat walk and mount a tank beneath it. This is where the tank is mounted on a 5 ton dump. I bet you can fab something up so it will look stock to the casual observer...if you care about that.
