HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

The "Source" may know nothing at all about this discussion.;)

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Post #314, Carnac said it best when he pointed out that there are just too many people on this site in the know, literally. They work for the government, they work on the bases and for the previous auction company. They KNOW how the system works and to say you have a "Source" that has and inside...

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

That is not a contradiction, it is a "GOTCHA".

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Well, Now they know where to go looking.rofl I was always under the impression that if it was ballistic armor than it was a demill item but if it was just heavy steel plate cut to fit then it was ok. I am thinking that the old heavy steel plate stuff went out with the gun trucks of Vietnam. In...

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Well now, That graph is downright impressive! According to thos figures I would guess the profit did not even pay for the advertising. I don't think IP has done such a good job in the civvie market by making bad decisions like that.

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Like I said before, It is going to be an interesting few months coming up. If Blackmagic is right then he has bought the only running ones out there and his buddies havea lock on all of the rest that will be auctioned. We all know that is impossible unless there is some insider trader going on...

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Just having some fun. General Tracy has nailed me a couple times in this thread so I figured I would lighten things up a bit. No foul. [thumbzup]

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Post #208. "I know you're joking about it, but fair warning to others, this will not be the place (SS) to talk about circumventing legal agreements and laws"

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

Or they figure they can circumvent the rules. It is going to be an interesting few months coming up.

HMMWV's for sale, no longer maybe, it happened

I am glad to see you put up those demil code change requirements. They have been in effect for many, many years but people just do not seem to believe that the government can come take the stuff back if they want to. A big military action suddenly comes up and they run short of trucks you can...

I haven't been able to follow this as closely as most. Did they remove the off road restriction?

    Strange Popping Noise Under Load

0, That is why I have not offered any advice at all in that department.

    Strange Popping Noise Under Load

I think you have probably found your problem. I also think you said the key words, " I was in a rush to put the transmission back together". That is when things go bad usually.

    Strange Popping Noise Under Load

If there is NO DRIVE SHAFT then how is the rear differential getting a load? It only happens under load and it IS happening WITHOUT the drive shaft in? How is the load being transferred to the rear? It is not so that eliminates that. I know what you are talking about with the dogs catching and...

    Strange Popping Noise Under Load

I have been following this from the beginning and he has been quite clear about what he has done and removing the rear drive shaft will eliminate any possibility of a load related noise coming from the rear. Unless someone can explain to me how the power is getting to the rear differential...

Doghead Helped Me Out Today! Says Hi to Gimpy Rob

Nothing wrong with those old bearings, they still turned didn't they?roflWell, slid on a lot if grease anyway.

    Strange Popping Noise Under Load

Sure would be nice if people read the whole post before replying. The tire pressure thing was addressed by removing a rear axle in his first post as was running with the front completely disengaged, again, in the original post. Also covered was the fact it is a bobber and hence no dogbone, in...

    Thermostat: what is normal operation

I agree, it is opening too early or too fast and letting too much cold water in all at once which is bad for the engine. A proper operation would be opening slowly as the temp reaches 195 and the hotter it gets above that point the faster and farther open the stat gets.
