I am 5'10" and 301#. I can drive my Deuce just fine! Easiest solution is to replace the driver's seat with an air ride seat. I bought a set of used ones off Ebay. They are the short versions. Tall ones (base) are too high for the Deuce and take a lot to modify! THe short ones require about...
Since I am basically done with my trailer project I decided to install a Coolant Bypass Filter on my M109. I found a great deal for one on Ebay. It was for a Powerstroke Engine. Got the base with bracket and 2 filters for $28 shipped! Went to Home Depot and NAPA for fittings Spent over $80...
Thanks for the nice compliment.
FYI we live in Hurricane Country so it's important to secure the trailers in place if you want it to be there after the storm!
Remember a little storm called Katrina?
The horn button uses the GROUND not the POSITIVE to function. Check the connection at the end of the steering shaft. That is where mine was disconnected.
I accidentally grounded the horn once while installing. Never do that again!!fat lady sings
UPDATE 3-16-2011
Since the last posting I have managed to shore up the tailer on a 6x6 Pressure Treated timbers. I went with a 5 level shoring. Three 4 foot pieces perpendicular to the frame 9 foot outside to outside spacing. Center member was 5 foot on center from edge. 2nd level has two...
I am probably going to get hassled for this but, I think you butchered the filter installation! I don't see why you didn't gut make an adapter plate and mount the filter heads slightly above. It would have eliminated the need to cut off the ears off the support plates.
Also what happened to...
Here is an easy locking cap solution. With the tank fairly empty put some support under the strap nearest the fill cap. Remove the nut from the strap bolt and slide the bolt out the first hole. Use a piece of 1/4" flat stock...round the corners on one end and drill a hole larger than the bolt...
OK today it stopped raining so I decided to finish the interior of the trailer. I needed to cap the door insulation so it does not get damaged. I had some leftover aluminum flashing roll that i had used to cap the exterior wood on my house.
I used the flashing to cove the surface of the...
Just a quick update! I purchased some 1/2" Tuff-R Rigid Insulation sheets to cover the inside of the doors. I managed to cut them out around the locking mechanisms and attach them to the doors with drywall screws. I installed 3 layers on each door. That gives them a R-10 value. I will be...
I promised some of my loyal followers that I would post pictures of the shipping department once I got it set up. I got most of the work done inside the trailer so I took some pictures. let me know what you think...
Today I broke my back and installed the bamboo flooring in the trailer. I had the A/C on all day and I was still sweating! it was 77 degrees out today! I didn't finish until 6:00 PM. Man am I beat! SInce I had been promising I would post pictures I went out to the trailer after dinner and...
I have to apologize in advance for not posting any pictures of the progress! I was going to take pictures today of the drywall after taping but got busy. I was motivated to get paint on the walls so I can complete the trailer project. I managed to paint the drywall in the trailer.
I...
