Welcome to the Outfit!
Not going to bother telling you what a TM is for...
You can download them here free.
You should create yourself a thread so you can post some pictures of your New-To-You truck.
The link below will put you in the right spot on the site for the new thread...

ABSOLUTELY!
You wanna die?
Just stick your face in front of that can - remove the band - without caging the spring brake chamber - and it is over!
Good video @chucky !
.
The spring brake chamber.
The side of a double chamber, the side with the hole where you can insert the bolt to lock out (compress) the spring before you replace that pancake.

Welcome to the Outfit!
Seems to me that the price is reasonable and the truck looks good from the one picture that you posted. I have to agree with @kendelrio and @M35fan and their opinion that fuel is most likely where your problems are. Draining and cleaning the fuel tank(s) and changing...

Just fishing, but is it a dollar resource question?
If the yearly dues doubled for example - would that increase make in financially possible?
The site as it is today already limits file size for uploads.
Naturally video files would be larger, but even those could be limited.
Just have to...

If you sat there and turned the engine by hand for 15 minutes, it might cause a problem - where oil isn't being pumped into the crankshaft journals etc, but a few turns by hand shouldn't be a big deal.
DRY turning isn't good.
A squirt of Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders is a plus but...
.
So... What If?
You have already got a 12v truck? Generally a 12v starter costs less than a 24v (just worth mentioning). You could take the starter that you already have to a rebuild shop - have that repaired - then reinstall it.
You should have a support on the back of the starter.

Wow @Spoonerist ...
I dunno about using vegetable oil as brake fluid. Quick research on the Web (and we all know that the Web Never Lies) says that it could work. Also found people who have used water as brake fluid. I guess any fluid would work if you were in a tight spot. Then again...
.
Poor Man's Turret isn't bad...
Heck, if you had a rotating turret then you would need to upgrade it to a powered turret.
You are saving big bucks this way!
.
Nice work platform @Colonel Jim !
Yeah, some padding would be nice.
Some sort of short step ladder to get up there...
It's interesting. I'd bet I could use that same arrangement on my Mk23 too.
I need to check out that idea before I need it.
.
The project car sounds like you guys made a lot of progress!
Especially the crank and run part.
Sounds like your electrician is making great headway too. Four outlets and LED lighting is a good start and you might get enough done to have a real workable space for the winter. That would be...
.
I believe you are right as rain.
You have managed to get the family involved and willing to ride
- Yep - It's time to upgrade.
That is a really wonderful thing!
Only thing you need to consider is width. I know the mirrors stick out beyond the rest of the truck, but a step is about head...
.
@Third From Texas - I think you nailed it.
No need to fix what ain't broke.
Adding automation to a simple couple of steps is just asking for trouble.
It's cute, but that is about it.
I'm 60+ and I can still hustle my large self into the cab.
