    M109 rotted floor

. Everybody has an opinion, but wood is that it was built with. I would go back with marine grade plywood and paint it on both sides before you start attaching it to the truck bed. Is that steel that you are referring to "sheetmetal" (thin stuff, non structural)? Might be worth posting up a...

    Cooling issues

. Yes Sir! Agreed on all points including age!

    Cooling issues

. It that is the plan, leave the radiator cap ON to help slow down the flow.

    M1165

. Cheapest solution for "the jackstand won't fit" where you want to put it is blocks of wood (also called cribbing). I got a half a pickup truck of scraps from a guy up the road who has a small saw mill. He sells lots of Oak cut into 12"x2"x20 feet long for trailer decking. I handed him a $20...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

. Nice to know more of the story. Have you listed any of them for sale in the CLASSIFIEDS section here? It might be a heck of a deal - buying a HMMWV from a museum - and writing a check to a Non-Profit Organization. Dropping Uncle Sugar out of the picture would make everyone except those who...

    700R4 success, I think.

. Looks like you made good progress today! Hate to hear that your switch jumped down on the floor and broke itself.

    Third's Build Discussion

. Yessir! And those pictures will be useful to the next owner for sure. Always nice to know what was routed where - especially under a layer of foam. I am looking forward to seeing the virtual windows! That is going to add extra class to a nicely made steel box - secured from the criminal...

M998 Was Alive, But Now Is Dead

. So... I understand the PITA part of doing repairs. When you consider that this truck is maybe twenty years old and was driven hard and put up wet by the previous owner - maybe it isn't as awful as it could be? You have spent a couple thousand bucks and maybe a hundred hours or so working on...

    Another M1010 owner

. Wonder if you need to put some sort of screening behind the louvres lovers to keep out nesting bees? Maybe not. They might just get "blown away" when you go roaring down the highway... Just suggesting - asking?

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

. Really nice and that looks like a heck of a good turn-out for the parade!

    mgFray's HMMWV from Minnesota

. Looks good - and having the tan piece in a green truck is no different than our local Reserve Units. I see tan rims on green trucks and other assorted cannibalized additions to front line trucks. I can imagine painting it later, but don't let that tan make you feel bad. Happy MV'ing...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Does the BL-XX on the door denote Bureau of Land Management? Glad to hear that you got her fired up! Lots of TLC and it will be good to go for many more years...

    M929 A2 Suddenly stopped dumping

. Wow! Well, that is good news for sure and a lot less expensive than it could have been. Having a way to measure fluid pressure is a nice addition too.

Newest addition to our fleet -1975 mowag Roland

. 30 years ago, City Truck with a loader on the back of a trailer. Improperly tied down, too fast for the curve and the dozier slid off the trailer deck. Every time I go around that curve - I still see the chew marks in the concrete median. For me - A good reminder. For everybody else it...

Why did this one go for so much $

. Keep an eye on that particular item... It could end up "through the blocks" again because the winner figured out he or she had paid too much after the auction was complete. Penalty for that too... Doesn't have a winch. The listing mentions hydraulics - and yes - technically the cab jack...

Newest addition to our fleet -1975 mowag Roland

. Yessir! Item #5 with metal tracks on a trailer with metal between the tandems as it "breaks over" can get "hairy". Especially if there happens to be a little rain or ice. There can even be "bite marks" on the seat... :)

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

. Good Plan @MattNC ! Having a gauge for transmission temp is definitely a good investment. MUCH more useful for example than a stereo or a USB charging port...

Newest addition to our fleet -1975 mowag Roland

. Congratulations on your New-To-You vehicle! It looks pretty good to me. Yeah, lots of work to be done, but definitely in relatively good shape. Yes sir, if you haven't loaded or unloaded a vehicle - looking at nothing but sky - is an adventure for sure.

    700R4 success, I think.

. Agreed. And, sad but true

    700R4 success, I think.

. Good plan. Heli-Coil is definitely the way to go. At least it will be a one time and done solution to the bolt problem. Always makes you wonder WHY when the original fixer knew that he (she) monkeyed the threads - and didn't fix it then and there...
