I have never seen exhaust run through the sides of the bed like that, it is not really that bad looking. It was cleanly done. When you say the water is frozen do you mean the water in the engine? That would be bad! The problem with the websites that were mentioned is that they will ot ship...
I came in a little late but check out the G838.org site. It is M151 only. A lot of good info on there. Check the underneath very well. They rust out badly under there and they are unibody so no frame. If it is rotted on the rear crossmember then walk away. If the rest is rotted it can be...
Also take out and put back in every fuse in the in the fuse panel. They get corrosion on them and do just what you experienced. You do not have to replace them with new ones, just remove and put back to clean up the connection.

You were talking about problems with foreigners buying things here, A friend of mine from Germany has said the same thing while another German friend has no problem? One thing I do know is that cash talks. Right now everyone's cash is worth a lot more than ours.:x The only problem I would...
Man! They are a lot cheaper on the west coast! That unit over here in the east would be double that. I would be all over it!:whistle::whistle:
Seriously though, if you are interested then discuss it in PM's because someone else looking may just snatch it out from under you. No it will...
I have done the very same thing with floor jacks (lifted into position) bottle jacks, a bumper jack and yes a scissors jack. Whatever it takes.
Henderson, Many years of off road racing and I think I have used every combination of duct tape, ratchet straps and assorted tools used as splints...
You will know when you have gone too far because you will hear a voice that sure sounds like your own yelling OH S***!!!!!!
If you have your significant other with you then you will probably never be able to hear much again shortly after that scream!

HMMMM, I will have to look at my parts pile. I have a complete engine in parts minus the block, crank, timing cover. Customer told me he had his wife crank it while he shot "Just a little" ether into it. BANG! Broke the crank right behind #2 rod like usual and broke the front main saddle and...
There is something you guys are not thinking about. Race teams usually use synthetic oil in the engines and everywhere else. This stuff is NOT designed to burn.

Sorry Ken, I just went back through all of the posts and I don't see that. Never see American engine parts listed in mm. At least not in my 40 years as a mechanic. Working with foreign engines I dealt with it all the time. No matter, just make sure what is in the engine is the same as what is...
That would have to be a typo, .75 is 3/4 of an inch! That is one BIG overbore! Standard overbores are .020, .030, .060. Make sure of what you have in there before ordering, some engines came from the factory with oversize pistons or bearings. It was perfectly acceptable.

He said it had the same 24 volt starter and glow plugs, Problem here is the CUCV has 12 volt glows.
Mine is converted to 12 volt, less stuff to deal with and if I need a starter on the road it is easier to find. I can also get a jump if need be. The problem I have is the single alternator belt...
They were either very small heating pads or one **** of a big extension cord and outlet. Most of those heaters are 500 to 1000 watt X 4 = minimum of 2000 watt and max of 4000. A special 30 amp 110 volt outlet would cover 3000 watts but above that you are looking at 2 20 amp circuits and 10...
You are saying he had a single 24 volt alternator? That would work for a while but you will be buying a lot of batteries due to battery imbalance. The only thing 24 volt on those trucks is the starter. The glow plugs are actually 12 volt powered through the resistor bank on the firewall which...
