The existing tubing in the back of the air filter housing is not "filtered air" since it is to the outside of the filter cartridge. The air coming from the air intake also connects to the outside of that cartridge.

To me $75 for a complete new door is a NO Brainer. I would buy it just because of the price and resell it...

Best paint stripper on the market is AIRCRAFT STRIPPER. I used it to remove many coats of paint off my 66' GMC walk in van. Make sure you ware gloves-it burns the skin on contact! This stuff is what was recommended to me by the owner of a body shop who was a good friend of mine...
