The Centipede aka my new 1988 m35a2c

The last lot of tires I bought at Fort Lewis I talked with the manager. He told me "all" tire sales are "Scrap" sales and he couldn't guarantee the quality of any tires. They do "try" and put together a lot with some good tires, but they also have some "not so good tires" in each lot . After all...

LDT Head Gasket swap. How many shop hours?

My brand new gaskets came in the mail and the box was folded in half. Would you guys use these or recommend returning them? You can see where the piston ring on the gasket is pulled away from the gasket material because of the bend. Makes me nervous. Just like Gimpyrobb said, "Don't use...

    Deuce Air-Wiper Motors

Does anyone know how many different styles of "Air-Wiper" motors where used on the Deuce ? My older Deuces have totally rebuildable units, and I have heard about the "plastic" housings on the later models, but I have never seen or heard anything about this style. My 1988 Air-Force Deuce's wiper...

    EGT Thermocouple Size

When you ordered you EGT gauge you should have specified what thermocouple you wanted. So they sent a 1/4" one ? That should work just fine.

The Centipede aka my new 1988 m35a2c

You won these tires from the Gov Liquidation sale ? Then there is no return on them. They sell them as "Scrap" and they let you know that in the description. That's why you really need to go down there and check everything out before you bid. I have gotten really burned a few times ! One time...

An Oxygen Sensor wrench makes a lot of sense !

    M1009: Steering shaft replacement?

Good to hear ! You'll be glad you went with this style of shaft as the steering "feel" is so much better then the "rag" .

Has anyone been refused at a car show because they drove a MILITARY VEHICAL?

Their loss for refusing you ! Just "shake the dust off you feet" at them and go on your way.

    So i bought a Deuce

That's what I was thinking when I first read this ! You could modify the MKT to be easily moved about without having to open up it up like it usually is to serve food. Having a Deuce tow your MKT around town would be a real attention getter !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Sounds like your having too much fun on the "Sabbath" ! Just kidding ! My aunt was a "die-hard" Pentecostal and any work or "inappropriate" Fun was not allowed on Sunday ! I always took the Lords command to rest on the Sabbath to mean rest the mind also. So having fun is OK !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

No, there must be some "parasitic" drain somewhere.

    M1009: Steering shaft replacement?

Don't give up on the shaft yet. They are really far superior to the original "rag" coupler. Make sure there is no burrs on either shaft, then making sure you are "straight" in alignment, try and tap it in again. It is a tight fit. Then make sure you install the "through" bolt before you tighten...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It's always nice to have companions for your deuce. Otherwise they get lonely and then angry. Then they start to act up !

    Older axles. on your deuce.

All differentials and transmissions and transfer-cases have vents. If they didn't then seals would be popping out all over the place ! I once worked on a TH180 that kept blowing out the front seal. Literally pushing out the front seal ! There was a factory recall on the problem which involved...

10 kw libby mep003a making power. not running the whole house.

I tried Linux once. I just could not get the hang of it. I'm so used to Windows I cannot get my head around another form. In fact I bought Windows 8 but went back to Windows 7 since I couldn't work with 8.

10 kw libby mep003a making power. not running the whole house.

I wish I had talked with you last week ! Last night I did go into Safe Mode and ran my anti-virus programs. I was at last able to rid myself of that horrible virus ! Now tonight after using system restore I'm up and running again ! I really need to learn how to partition my harddrive like you...

    Winch and Bumper Project

The top bumper is in the stock position. By adding the second underneath I gave myself a perfect place to mount my WARN winch. I'll be adding a brace from the bottom bumper to the frame in case I ever have to push someone.
