What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

. That would be my guess. Seems that government in your business always seems to flow from the west coast in this general direction.

    New T813 Owner

Congratulations Hybriden ! AND Welcome to the Outfit! That is a SHARP looking truck! Very nice indeed!!

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

. I like the toolbox! Big enough to have enough stuff in it to handle a problem if the need arises. Those No Sail flaps will be perfect too...

    CUCV 383 Green Paint

. Not even got the tape off it yet - and it is looking really nice!

Inflating tube tires with lock ring wheels

. Yes Sir Ajax MD , That is indeed the magic tool. When it is dented, scuffed and looks like it has been dragged down the highway behind your truck for several miles - it can be considered "broken in" and has some "character".

    CTIS Troubleshooting Question

. Sounds familiar. These trucks definitely seem happiest when they are used regularly. Sitting seems to kill things for no good reason... Glad to hear that you have easy access to shop air. That will help for sure and hopefully a few rubber parts will make it happy again. There were "hacks"...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

. Yes sir. I cannot quite understand how that is acceptable behavior - and how the law isn't being enforced. Guess that is enough about it, but like other comments: That isn't how most of us were raised...

    Weird Fuel pressure issue…

. Don't send that stuff down here! I am already whining about 17 here for the weekend...

Inflating tube tires with lock ring wheels

. Holy Crap! That could be a really BAD day if you were standing in the wrong place.

Looking at a LMTV. Need advice please!

. You may want to consider WHY you want it. I mean all of us here love big green (or tan or camo) trucks, but what do you want it to do for you? Is it to haul big stuff or maybe to drive through the wilderness? CTIS is a good thing - when it works. It needs attention and 20 to 30 year old...

My truck got a small part in a movie..

. That is particularly neat! There is a big warehouse that has been rented several times for movie shoots next door to our place. Last few times they were here we helped the props department with several projects. Building Sets need blueprints and the stickers and boxes for filming assorted...

    CTIS Troubleshooting Question

. Couple of things to consider: The truck makes a racket when it runs. All of them do... Bypass that with a gladhand attached to the front drivers side of the truck from "house air" if you have a compressor. Turns off the truck and lets you hear what is going on. Maybe it is a leak that you...

    6.2L rear main seal replacement

. Like Squibbly said, these crusty old Technical Manuals (TM's) are BORING and could drive you to drink, but knowing where to go for solid information will always be those books. They are the equivalent to a Chilton's Manuals in the civilian world. Hardest part is the naming nomenclature...

Official 2022 Denton Military rally thread, April 23rd-24th

. Now all I need is the running truck - with or without bumpers - since you have a source for those

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

. So it would appear that "your clown" has an opinion... :) Good looking work is happening on that truck for sure! Spring Pack looks really nice. Should be quieter too.

Why or Why not to buy a SEE Small Equipment Excavator?

. Careful there... Giving away your Auction Secrets will leave you bidding on nothing but the big tire fancy trucks. All the tired looking trucks will get gobbled up with the ASSuM(E)tion that they are gold at the next auction.

    Weird Fuel pressure issue…

. And maybe a short summary of what really solved the problem when you post your next update tonight?

    MEP-003 Water in Exhaust

. Start soaking the cylinders and exhaust valves with marvel mystery oil. It may be too far gone, but a quart of that red stuff sometimes performs magic to bring a power plant back to life. You definitely have some of the good guys on the job with you! .

Operation: Ethel. Kendelrios M37 (re)build thread

. What is amazing is the guys who know how to use a duckbill hammer make it look so easy. Those soldiers who needed remedial learning - not as much - and they worked much harder!

Torque value for M939A2 combat wheel studs?

. Milwaukee is a really GOOD piece of equipment! I have a half inch that I use on most of the bolts on my 5-Tons. A lot of that and the ability to do stuff without breaking stuff is "'by ear". Over time, you learn that the hammering is "getting more serious" and something is going to give if...
