Correction: someone did get into Transfer case. It’s just so Oil and grease free that I didn’t see. Oil lube all the way to top and Clean. That’s the good news. Bad news :: Me. I broke two grease fittings one on the parking brake under the bell housing and the other is the upper fitting on the...
The Transfer case plugs fill and drain doesn’t look like it has ever been touched and no oil residue on housing. Gonna check that one first then Transmission : Plan to put in 85/140 conventional if needed to replace or top off depending how gear lube looks. Getting extension tube to screw into...
Just trying to do maintenance as best I can. I know there’s more than I know. Gonna be lubing and changing steering oil with 00 this week.
Hope I will be hearing soon when the Truck mechanic can get to the brakes.
Thank You
Thank You
The flexible break lines look good no cracking that I see so far. Will look again in length. Was gonna use the silicone there to clean surface and leave a protective layer ( hopefully)
/ The bushings on shocks have some cracking not real bad but has some. Wanted to put a thin...
Got silicone spray. Gonna put some on rag and go over surface of rubber grommets and surface of flexible brake lines. I will wipe off after to leave No build up of silicone : just to clean surface with it
Will that work ?
Can’t find the Manual that shows My 83 M35A2
But close enough to where I can hopefully get it. Newer M35s show multiple grease fittings on front wheels - Mine has one facing up on top. Able to get full size grease gun on them
I Put grease in the front wheels to feed the boots. I put in 10 good pumps on each. The boot that has not been changed to the zipper boot feels like it can take more grease. The zipper boot seemed to give resistance after 10 pumps. I feel that one is full. Gonna add more to other boot. If I...
I got Lucas oil Heavy Duty Grease today. It actually reminds me of the GAA golden looking I used on these Vehicles a Long time ago. But the Lucas Oil grease is green.
Current status is : the 00 gear lube came. I will be changing the steering 80-90 weight to the 00
Also be greasing the fittings. Have to look at manual : looks like grease fitting or brake fluid bleeder inside the wheels facing up. Front wheels. Sorta think I maybe it’s a grease fitting to...
Bleeder valve on air assist pod on front / back end had square plug to take off and put in air compressor oil ( one of the videos suggested that to do). Will be looking in manual for Complete system parts. Have checked under a bit didn’t see any damage to brake line. But need to go thru it...
I haven’t gotten the bleeder yet. I have always either been in pumping the brake pedal or down under at the bleeder valves. I read and heard I can Gravity Bleed it. Plus You saying just pump brake then go and crack bleeder. Didn’t know you can do it by yourself. Another Good thing to know...
Also getting OD paint. They call it Forest Green Camouflage. Can to brush on underneath and probably a couple spray cans. Trying to offset some of the rust on her. Hood hinges rusted.
Brakes #1.
Thank You
Great. But I gotta jack her up to change wheel cylinder seals. Wish I didn’t have to jack her up. Getting a 20 ton bottle jack and truck safely stands. Metal plate.
Hoping to have a Real Good Truck Mechanic be the lead on this one. I hope to help him. He’s busy so gonna be a bit. I will be...
Would this bleeder do. I have a decent compressor/ old style. Motor / belt / sorta big tank
Had 4 tree trunks cut to size to fit under front bumper. Had them cut to 2 different lengths. Will still have safety stand under axel and will use Bottle jack / and try and get some metal plate 3/4...
