This one isnt a 15kw, but it was military.
csheath, is this what you were looking for? it is in an enclosure, the enclosure is an old minute man missle control box.
This is will be my backup when it gets all wired up. We would have used it for a snow storm but I only had the cable in the...
I am guessing that a 15kw will be better suited. By his description it sounds like an older all electric home, and my guess is an older well motor with no soft start ability so the well by itself pegs a needle about 4k on a start. I think he would be gobbling up a 10k and running the chance of...
We were out of power for 6 days, I used a 804a for all of our stuff here, never exceeded 50% capacity. My fuel consuption was 6-7 gallons a day, running 8 hours a day.

If it were me, being 6'4" and having to drive one while on active duty for too many miles, I would say cut out the support behind the drivers seat and move it back far enough to be able to get in and out without busted knees.
If you are having solenoid issues, verify that it is 'sucking in' all the way also, or you may begin to have starting/run issues due to the push rod not retracting and letting the fuel cutoff open fully.
I agree with Guy, figure this out yourself. What are you going to do in a snowstorm when it quits? Its only been a couple days, and most of that time is spend on making it run.
I have worked on 4 of these so far, and everyone of them needed a new collar, and every one of them had a flared end that had to be cut off to replace the collar, and it got reflared after the new collar went on.
That fuel line should be flared, and I bet that the collar is cracked, if not cracked it is spread out so much that it bottoms out on the nipple it skrews on.
If it were me, I would replace the nipple that skrews into the pump, the collar, and the rubber washer. And flare that fuel line. I...
We got our line power back up on Friday afternoon, was very happy with the 15kw. It ran our whole house, and water well with no issues at all. I have a guy coming to look at a 30 today, when I told wife I will be showing off a genny today, she was quick on the draw of asking which one. She now...
