I have a line on some NOS CUCV covers. They are not the Dodge M880 cover, but the real deal M1008/A1 cover. I will post details when I know for sure, but that might be a couple of weeks...
Here's a shot of an M125 with a towed gun (not sure of the size). This was posted on the mil-veh list years ago and I think it was from South Korea after the war. Sorry it's not a side shot, but it's the only pic I've got of an M125 towing a gun.
Does anyone have one of the 600 gallon fuel pods that they could take some measurements from? Specifically, I am looking for the measurement between the skids on each end, the width of the skids (or a measerment from outside to outside of the skids), the overall height of the skids when sitting...
Well, once you know the code, I'm not sure why you would choose not to follow it? I think that would be considered "disrespecting" the flag, which is also against the code.
If you can't display it properly on your truck, then you shouldn't display it at all, IMHO.

Souinds like glow plugs to me. If even 3 or 4 are bad, it won't start in the cold. Replace the plugs and then figure out if the firewall resistors are bad or what else is causing them to fail to easily. The resistors should each Ohm out at .28 Ohms +/- 5%
No harm. If you were towing heavy loads with a pickup, you'd want a higher shift point and firm shifts, but with a M1009, it's not really necessary. Mine shifts as yours did when cold, firm and at about the same speeds.
Very cool video. I'm not sure about the recoil force of that minigun, but I know a guy who was a truck driver in Vietnam and he drove everything with wheels. He told me that when someone started lighting up the jungle with a .50 cal off of one side of his V100, it was all he could do to keep it...
You might want to double check, but the uprights appear to be fiberglass. The texture will give it away. I did a quick check, and the top bow for a dump is 69", while a standard cargo is 74". Can you confirm the bow length?
