I have a 1962 6 ton semitrailer with Army registration 7E0327. I need to come up with a 1961 6 ton semitrailer registration number as the original is nowhere to be found. Carnac could not back into it from the VIN. Does anyone recall how the early 1960's number system worked? There was an...
Another Ft Polk recovery. Couldn't have ask for better weather. Somehow I got the big heavy tow bar hooked by myself. Av8or's advice was spot on, the truck followed just fine and did not pull the rear around like the M916 did.
A huge thank you to Jeepsinker for picking up an item from Polk...
Well these are all sold now. The first is some kind of electronics van, what makes it unusual is how low to the ground it is. The military has always had high profile trailers to clear off road obstacles, not sure what they were thinking on this. Made me think of a horse trailer. It has FMTV...
Not seen much about these here or elsewhere, so I figured a quick review was in order. I was looking for some camping gear, as my son is about the age where camping will be a fun experience. I remember using shelter halfs back in my youth and I recall they were not that great. This 2 person...
Need a hand from you guys, got a rebuilt 1961 Spencer Stafford Loadcraft M146 trailer and nowhere on it is the Army registration number. Carnac could not help me with the VIN backtrace. Does anyone that has a similar era trailer know what their USA number is? Might be 7E1234 format. I want...
Any of you get in on the action on this bad boy this afternoon? Did not sell due to not meeting reserve. Bids were up to $16,125. Without engines, this boat would have been a bottomless money pit even if Uncle Sugar would have let it go. It is supposed to be fitted with a pair of POS Jap...
Found these pics from quite a few years ago. Chopper belongs to MAGI. I hauled it for them from State Surplus in Houston. This pic is from my "pre-compliance" days when I ran without any DOT credentials. No more.
This topic is dicussed in M211guy's thread, but it needs to be covered here as well. On 27 May 2012, a M211 tour truck being operated by a private tour group lost steering and went over a embankment, rolling over and resulting in 1 loss of life and 4 severe injuries. This occured in Del Muerto...
Did you see this M1008 sold yesterday 1/24/13. Serial number 300003, dod 1983. Differences from production seem to be the MERDC paint job, silver colored air cleaner, and wheels. The engraving on the data plate is also different. Interesting to see uncle kept this truck for so many years in...
I know this must have been covered here before but I cannot find it. What color were the wheels of 1008's and 1009's when they rolled off the assembly line, 383 Brown or Black? My un-repainted 1009 wheels look brown.
Found a great source for these hard to find tires, it is B and M Military Surplus, bandmmilitarysurplus.com, Bill fixed me up with a pair of nice mounted 14.00's and palletized and loaded motor freight for me. He is also parting several 10 tons.
Anybody have anything at Las Vegas - Nellis (M931?) needing to come to Texas? Will have a half full drop deck coming to TX in the next two weeks. Hoping to share the cost of the ride.
Another 700 mile road march under the 915's belt. Flawless trip up to Hooks and back on the first nice cool day. Trailer is a '89 Baillie with full air brakes, in great shape. GL crew great as always. I really like the looks of this tractor trailer combination!
Looks like RRAD is the...
In a bigtime pinch, family emergency, cannot get to Hooks to pick up M129A3 van semitrailer, trailer is perfect, need someone to pull off RRAD and store short term, must happen this week and Tues-Wed of next week. Please let me know who can help. Thanks.
I will have to go to Ft Polk within the next two weeks for a pickup, so if you have something to get moved off base and moved in the direction of Houston, TX, I can help. I will have 25' of trailer deck and about 16 tons of payload available. PM to coordinate.
Around Nov of 2010 I made a post here about "Jimmy save or not" or something like that. Well it took me a while (1.5 yrs?) but today I went and got her. She is a '42 Banjo cargo long wb, s/n 96917. Terrible condition. Of note is my trailer winch set up. It is one of those MRAP Warn 18,000...
Pics of what this looks like. Looks a little like a smaller MTVR. Not exactly in love with this. The bed hangs over the back of the frame considerably. Thanks to SS member PUZZLED for the bed from his about to be bobbed deuce.
The concept here is to be a flat-tow rig with cargo area for...
