    Thoughts on WAGO connectors

WAGOs do stranded wire better than wire nuts in my observations.

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Does this crap go as far back as WW2 MV's? Veterans' day parades are going to get a lot more boring...

Operation: Gertrude. Kendelrios M715 restoration thread

After bumping around in the buckboard 715, the M37 ride will spoil you.

Operation: Gertrude. Kendelrios M715 restoration thread

Now now, don't forsake your M37 in your cloud of joy...;)

    Wiring help, seeking wisdom

The temp & oil senders, Bendix regulator plug, horn, and the dimmer switch wires come out on the driver side, and run down along the firewall. If I remember rightly, the brake light switch wires come out on the passenger side, then connect to the rear loom along with the rear lights and fuel...

    M105 trailer...

Ye Olde 105 is a real off-road trailer from the beginning. Stout, easy to maintain, good brakes when properly towed. The non-directional tires will last many moons.

    M105 trailer...

Please don't use it for a bobber, or mess with the axles/wheels. Pretty soon, there won't be any left...

    Where to look for M35s/M109s?

I remember parking lots like that in Barstow, full of M37s. Row after row... All up for bid.

Type IX Single Component CARC Painting?

The same chemical that escaped from a factory and killed hundreds in India. CARC is dangerous to apply without proper gear and methods.

Type IX Single Component CARC Painting?

    Wise advice.

    M105 tire conversion

For less than $100 worth of tools and learning, you can change them yourself. They are NOT 'split-rim" wheels, rather Goodyear safety lockring style. Tools, tires, tubes, and flaps are available, PM me and I can set you on that course.

    AZ M1078 insurance in Arizona

My Safeco insures my cars/trucks, no problem. Even the '93 F-700 non-commercial. Give 'em a call, they may help you out. Ask for Lereme, 480-636-7764 in Gilbert.

Are market lights required to be legal?

Another thing to think about is if your rig is licensed as commercial or not. Some states allow POV's exemption to DOT commercial rules. AZ is one of them with historic vehicle plates.

    Blackest matte black

I've used that conductive paint, both Carbon- and Silver-based. It makes crowded transmitter sites easier to occupy without interference hassles. The Carbon works OK, but the Ohm/SqCm is not as low as the silver type. The last gallon of the Silver was just over $5,000, but after application...

    The new "green" trailer? JLTV-T

Looks expensive... But what isn't in the new lineup?

    AN/TRC-75 Radio Transceiver ?

The same radio running on single-phase 60Hz would be twice as big and twice as heavy. A good reason to have one of those 400Hz gensets.

    Changing tires from 9.00-20 39.5" to 12R 20 44" singles

His hubs are flipped. I'm glad to see someone else running halogen 1kW landing lights. The LED folks just can't fathom what real light output is. The kind that sets cardboard on fire in seconds...

Operation: Gertrude. Kendelrios M715 restoration thread

Yep, and it draws fresh air after the air cleaner.

But the waterproof dist on your 715 doesn't have vacuum advance...

Operation: Gertrude. Kendelrios M715 restoration thread

Years ago I got to drive a schools Dodge D600 box van with a 318 V-8 and dual exhausts. It was easy to get it to backfire by spooling it up, shutting the ignition off for a second or two, then turning it back on. Spooked more than a few girls doing that. The last (and best) time I did that...
