So it works - anything I may have forgotten?

Fuel storage is the big question. How many gallons worst case, can you rotate the fuel back into your daily driver/tractor after x months, if not how to stabilize so no algae blooms occur.

Found this paperwork in my truck

Your truck was once assigned to A company, 103 rd Brigade Support Battalion. It needed circuit breakers repaired. Edit: wrong B.

Information for braking instructions for a M1083

The miltary does not train truck drivers per Federal laws which govern commercial motor vehicle use on public roads. Unless your former military driver is now a CDL driver, you will not get the expert testimony relevant in this case.

Information for braking instructions for a M1083

Sounds like you are representing the injured party. Unfortunately for the "City in Georgia", they were negligent in many ways. The over 26,000 GVWR truck requires a Class B operator, probably a Class B CDL operator. Government owned vehicles are not exempted from FMCSA rules either which...

    What do I have? M35a1 or M35a2

I don't think that's the VIN. Can you look more forward for lighter stamped numbers?

    Ingersoll Rand Gyro-Flo 125

Welcome to the forum. Looks 1960's vintage. I would take the starter to an old school auto electric shop. They should be able to rebuild it. Engine looks like a Continental Red Seal, also commonly used in forklifts.

Information for braking instructions for a M1083

Here is what is written in the TM: Must be what your client is referring to. Do not press brake pedal hard three or four times in a row. Air supply will be used up and service brakes will not work until air pressure builds up again. Do not operate vehicle until FRONT and REAR BRAKE AIR...

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

If you can get your RTFL over there and rent a second one, you can easily pick the LCVP up, one fork truck in the middle of the gunwale on both sides, with a inverted v bridle sling going to the front and rear lift points bow and stern. Lift it straight up and back a drop deck underneath. No...

Information for braking instructions for a M1083

Here we go. The M1083 has a GVW that requires a class B drivers license. To obtain this license you are required to perform the "cola" air brake test, which requires you to pump the brake pedal dozens of times in quick succession. This will not cause the brakes to fail. The brakes on the...

    Commercially Available A2's?

Worldwide Machinery still has 21 unsold SD Brazos trucks that have been sitting in Houston since BAE folded years ago. Personally I would have taken that to be a barometer of demand for these trucks before I opened a business to rebuild and sell these to the oilfield/off highway market.

    Commercially Available A2's?

OMG, it's like Plan B for FMTVs. At least they look like they do a better job with the rebuild.

    M923 A2 Rear Axle Issue

Drive over some undulating terrain and then show us what is left of that.

Just joined the LMTV FAMILY and M1081 club

Welcome and congratulations. I hope you cherish that rare airdrop truck as I do mine.

Can you post a picture of the frame stamped VIN?

Glad hand leak at rear of m1088-check valve replace valve or whole unit?

Did you inadvertently bump the trolley lever in the cab?

    220v 1-phase HVAC unit reliability

Check the schematic, some of these units have the compressor run continually and moderate cooling by opening a valve to bypass the evaporator.

    Halftrack crane

I think the M15s were the favorite for crane conversions, as the turrets were useless in civilian applications. It is amazing what kind of huge cranes were attached to the wimpy halftrack chassis.

    m45a1?

It will haul much more gravel than will fit in the dump bed.

    m45a1?

Originally manufactured 1965 or so. Good for farm or hobby use, but probably not something you want to put on a construction site with an 18 yr old driver.

    Generator wiring

You need the alternator conversion kit. Call around to TJMurray etc, the vendors should have some.
