New to me M35A3, suggestions needed

I use John Deere 15W-40 in deuces, the same as I use in my JD tractors. The Rotella is good oil and I use Rotella T3 15W-40 it in my MEP003A generator.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I routinely put Optilube XPD in the tanks of all of my diesels. Optilube XPD came out number one in lubricity tests.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I'm in Georgia, but in the mountains. We get winter diesel here. The issue the fuel companies have, even in warm weather areas in the winter, is that trucks and cars can take on diesel fuel in warmer areas and then drive up into colder areas and have a problem. Changing the subject, piston...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I've never seen it in the FLU419 manual to add gasoline to diesel fuel for winter. I've only seen where it says to use winter diesel vs summer diesel for winter conditions. I have seen where it was authorized to add a small amount of kerosene to summer diesel fuel for use in winter conditions...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Gasoline has almost no lubrication attributes. I would be very concerned that adding gasoline to diesel fuel would damage the injection pump. I would stick with approved additives to clean the injectors. When I was in the Army, many of our trucks had multifuel engines and some were still...

    803a not warming up

When did you buy the diesel fuel? You may have summer diesel fuel and not winterized diesel fuel. Normally, winterized diesel fuel is sold in the U.S. between November and March.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I had to use my FLU419 twice over the past few days because we were snowed in due to the winter storm. My FLU and my M35A3 were the only vehicles I could get out with because of the snow and ice and the fact that our house is located on a steep hill. I had to start the FLU at 16 deg F. I was...

    Dating my deuce?

AM General and these trucks don't have a 17-digit VIN, they have a serial number.

Why or Why not to buy a SEE Small Equipment Excavator?

That ad states it has an automatic transmission. None of the FLU419s had automatic transmissions. The air compressor isn't necessarily faulty. It is more likely that the air line is corroded and plugged. Without air, you don't have usable brakes and other stuff won't work. Easy enough to...

    Dating my deuce?

Did you receive a title when you bought the deuce? They are worth more with a title. You can usually date vehicles by looking at ID tags on the truck without further information, but you do have a S/N and registration #. Check all three axles, transfer case, transmission, etc. You already...

    Flu419 parts

Absolutely, but I find some things easier in the Case Parts Book, especially the illustrations. I use both together when needed. When I'm dealing with the backhoe alone, the Case book only has the backhoe stuff in it.

    Flu419 parts

I agree with you, but I find the Case 35C parts book very easy to use and only $10.00 for a new copy.

Why or Why not to buy a SEE Small Equipment Excavator?

The best thing anyone considering purchasing a FLU419 can do is locate someone nearby that owns one and ask if you can look at it, drive it and do a little digging with it. I've had three people come to my place and look at my FLU. Two ended up buying a FLU and the third was scared by the...

Why or Why not to buy a SEE Small Equipment Excavator?

I own a FLU419 and I use it extensively on my property, mostly cleaning out ditches on my road on my 40 acres. There are pros and cons to the FLU419. The first variable is the condition of the machine. I have had very few problems with mine as it was in very good condition and well...

    Flu419 parts

If you need Case backhoe parts you should buy the parts book for the Case 35C backhoe. Many, if not most, of the parts are the same as the backhoe on the FLU419. Several sellers offer a hard copy of the book on Ebay for $10.00, some with free shipping. The part numbers are the same as the...

    Flu419 parts

The hydraulic tools are all Stanley hydraulic tools. You can normally find used ones for sale on Ebay. New Stanley hydraulic tools are expensive. Replacement parts for the hydraulic tools are all available from Stanley. I was lucky in that my FLU419 came with a complete set of hydraulic tools.
