It's been a real blessing having this forum to mine, lots of good info and help for new guys like me. I totally ripped that coolant filter idea off somebody on here, don't remember who ... I did use the correct Cummins part!

I cleaned out the coolant system, had to replace the shutterstat (stuck open) and realized my coolant was brownish green, had what looked like dirt and rust in it. So, I flushed it with some FleetGuard Restore and some Restore Plus, replaced the water pump+belt added a coolant filter and...

This is the inner axle seal surface, inside the axle housing, the other seal is on the spindle

It started off as a M936, now it's a farm truck

I replaced my front tires (were 14.00R20, in background), now they're all the same size 295/85R20! before after

I have had recurring front axle seal leak on passenger side. the inner axle was pitted pretty badly under the seal lip. I used a Speedy Sleeve SKF99212 I had to make a 'tool' to install the little tool they supplied fits in a 2" NPT union sso you can cut off the end after you JB weld it in...

the o-ring between the FSOV and the PT pump was leaking, I guess when I got all the air leaks fixed the fuel pressure was a smidge higher and made some drips? Once I replace the o-ring, no more drip. The FSOV is on the back of the PT pump on the M936. somewhat slow, tedious job. Truck hasn't...

I noticed some fuel leaking today and found the FSOV seems to be the source of the leak. This is an M936, so the PT pump is variable governor model and the FSOV is between the pump and the engine. (I cleaned the fuel pump off real good with carb cleaner and air dried it, and this is the highest...

after Getting the fuel system leaks sorted out, I’m still having an issue with the truck shutting down once it warms up and i load it up. As soon as I throttle up, it just dies like like I cut the switch off, the FSOV wires were frayed, so I replaced the crimp on eye. I also checked ground...

Finished fixing leaks in fuel system, selector valve plug was scored badly, and some other stuff was broke. pressure test looked good, so now I'm looking at electrical problems

Ah, I see so uncork to vent the pressure when greasing the kingpins so I don’t pop the rubber. I did see in the LO maintenance interval on axle U-joint zerk and front wheel bearing greasing is 6,000 miles, or 6 months, which ever comes first. I’m prolly gonna let that slide out a bit longer...

Do those two holes below the inner axle seal serve any purpose?
