    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

Yeah the truck started and ran fine without the electric pump. Only reason I went to the electric pump is because I'm doing a 6.5 turbo setup and will be using the mechanical pumps mounting spot for the oil drain for the turbo.

    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

That's just how this pump functions. It runs initially to build pressure then will shut off so it's not just dead heading itself. Only runs for a second or two when I turn the key on.

    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

Just to update the thread, I have installed my FRB-5 pump and have been running it for a bit now. Haven't put a ton of miles on it since the weather here has been super hot (for PA) and a flat green truck with no AC isn't too fun to drive haha. But it's been working great so far. It primes up...

    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

Just to update the thread in case anyone else can find it useful, I have received the pump I ended up going with. After some back and forth and looking at specs, and what I want to do, I ended up going with a walbro FRB-5 pump. I planned to install it this past weekend but it didn't happen due...

    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

Do you happen to know what fittings I'll need? I assume it uses the typical GM flare and o ring style line connection right?

    Preferred Electric Fuel Pump

So to make a long story short, my m1031 I got a 6.5 turbo setup that is mostly complete that I'll be installing in the near future once I gather more parts to do the crossover and downpipe. But in the mean time, I'd like to get my fuel system converted over to an electric pump and spin on...

    Front Leaf Springs

I think the springs are in decent condition. Just when the plow is on there in the winter months it sags a decent amount and is almost touching the rubber bump stops. It's a failry heavy plow (8' fisher). I'd also like the little bump up in height with the plow not on the truck, which it...

    Front Leaf Springs

So I have a M1031 and I'm wanting to raise the front a little bit. About 2" would be ideal. Would also help with the plow in the winter. I have read conflicting info about the front springs on these due to the Dana 60 axle. I've seen guys say standard spring packs won't work as they would on a...

    M1031 Tire Choice

Yeah cruising 45-50 rpms are definitely a little bit lower for sure.

    M1031 Tire Choice

I ordered my tires yesterday through my local tire shop. I hope to see them this week. Went with the Toyo Open Country MT in 255/85r16. I will post pics when I get them on there. Been driving the truck the last couple days and it's been doing great.

    M1031 Tire Choice

Got the Ole girl home. Tires will be ordered tomorrow along with a few other things that I want/need to do right away.

    M1031 Tire Choice

This is my first CUCV. But I do have a little experience with the 6.2/6.5 motors. I'm a diesel tech for cummins and international and we still get some in from time to time haha. But the previous owner installed a fluidamper on it. I made the trip home with the truck today. Will be ordering...

    M1031 Tire Choice

I only run toyos so they'll be the toyo MT in either size. 255/85r16 will in all likelihood be my choice. Got my trailer all hooked up and ready to go. Heading out tomorrow morning to hopefully bring it back home with me. Do you still have the th400 in there? Or did you upgrade to a...

    M1031 Tire Choice

Cool, thank you for the input. Might just do the 255/75r16 to get the height and be on the safe side still. Then to just start gathering parts to bring it back to its original glory inside and out.

    M1031 Tire Choice

First time poster, but been lurking for a little while gathering info and building knowledge. I am very likely buying an 86 M1031 this weekend and I'll need to put some tires on it. I would like to go as tall as I can without issues with rubbing, as I won't want to cut the fenders to make...
