419 SEE front loader troubleshooting advice needed

Some have been able to do that, but mine won't. If I rock the loader blade, it will almost do it. Some have apparently turned up the pressure in the pump, but that can cause leaks. Best to use a jack in my opinion.

    FLU419 transmission question

I haven't replaced mine, but I did purchase new ones from EI and they were both off-white, not black.

    Battery charging question

I currently have five NOCO chargers of various sizes and models that I've had for years and no failures.

    New River Gorge M151 Trip

Wow, what a trip! Makes me want to take my M151A2 up there. (y)(y)(y)(y)

    Battery charging question

I use the exact same charger and setup to keep the batteries on my MEP003A genset charged. No problems and works great.

WATER in "sealed" LED turn signal!

Drill a small hole in the bottom to let the water drain out. Since you don't know where the leak is, don't seal the hole and it will continue to drain future leakage.

If you look at TM 5 2420-224-34 on Page 617 / (15/65), you will notice that it lists the spacers as packing. I don't remember the details when I assembled mine, but it appears that the spacers go under the cover without any other packing or gasket. I would surmise that the sealing occurs...

    M274 Mule Information

Good news! The Mule runs and drive great. This is the first Mule I've driven with 4-wheel steer. At slow speeds, no problems. However, at high speed on the road, the Mule is really squirrelly while driving. The steering becomes super-sensitive. I don't know if this is common or not. The...

    M274 Mule Information

In my case it was definitely a carburetor problem. That line was clear. I purchased an NOS carburetor on Ebay and installed it today. The engine started right up and runs great. No more fuel pouring out of the carburetor. I still haven't driven it - that comes tomorrow. I do still have...

I would double-check the A-coded wires behind the fuse blocks. I had similar issues. Do your fuse blocks have the paper labels that identify the circuits? Mine has them, but I saw another FLU419 where they were missing. If yours are missing, let me know and I'll send you copies.

Just bought my deuce, first had a ticking noise, now its knocking

Are you sure the ticking sound is from the engine and not from the transmission? Do you hear the ticking while the engine is running, but the truck is stopped? I recovered an M35A2 from Fort Indiantown Gap, PA to North Georgia, years ago. The whole way home I heard a distinct ticking while in...

    "ZOUT"

I knew he was ill, but I didn't know he was that ill. He was a very good friend of mine and he will be deeply missed. He helped me on several projects and I helped him. Rest in peace. Condolences to his family.

    M274 Mule Information

I've sanded down on other MVs and obtained the information. It appears that the original paint was stripped off when repainted by the museum that owned it. Unfortunately, the guy that was responsible for it has passed away. Has anyone ever seen a data plate on an A5 that didn't reference the...

    M274 Mule Information

I just purchased a Mule from an auction at a private museum. It has a platform without the access panel convert from 2 to 4-wheel steering. It has full-time 4-wheel steering without provision to change to 2-wheel steering. It is in excellent condition but hasn't been run in many years. The...

    Runaway MEP-003a !!!

While in the Army, I saw an M35A2 multifuel engine run away. We were in the mess hall eating lunch when the engine, which was idling, started increasing RPM. The RPM increased very slowly at first and then really took off. The engine disintegrated virtually completely. Luckily, no one was...

    Runaway MEP-003a !!!

You mentioned that you let the engine idle down to cool it. You can do real damage if you idle the engine on either an MEP002A or an MEP003A gen set. You should never ever let one idle. Shut it down at full speed / 60 Hz.

    FLU419 transmission question

That's the first thing I would suspect. Not that hard to replace. EI has the new ones.

A3 compressor, air system, relief valve

I had an almost identical problem with my M35A3 years ago. I replaced the governor and it cured the problem. One side note is that the new governor had plugs installed in ports that the original governor had left open. I plumbed the new governor to match the old governor plumbing. I haven't...

I'm still in the middle of replacing the head on my compressor. I removed the old head with the wheel still in place which was not a difficult job. However, the new head I received from Estonia came with a much thicker head gasket and additionally a gasket to go between the cylinder and engine...
