Question about Picking up my trailers

mckeeranger's right. As far as I know, all Kentucky trailers must be registered unless they're being towed by a farm-tagged vehicle for an agricultural purpose. He's also right that you're unlikely to get hassled about it but I agree you should call and check with Ft. Campbell first. BUT...

    M35A2 un-insurable

Insured with Farm Bureau with no problems. I think they listed it as a pickup as that was the closest category.

    Kentucky Vietnam Vet Parade

It would be great if you can make it. The lady I know from the organizing committee told me that they're expecting between 10,000 and 30,000 people to attend. She was told that there's been an effort to publicize the parade among motorcyclists, so there could be as many as 2,500 cyles there...

    Kentucky Vietnam Vet Parade

There will be a Vietnam and Vietnam Era veterans welcome home parade on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in London, Kentucky. Actually, there will be several days of events, including a 5k run and a car show. London is in southeast Kentucky on Interstate 75. One of the organizing committee members...

    Fuel in oil LDS4651A

I'm currently dealing with this situation and my oil was very thin and smelled like diesel. In fact, everything smelled like diesel when the oil started pouring out of every engine orifice.

    Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Let me add my compliments to the GL staff at Redstone. We picked up an M105 trailer last week and the whole process went very smoothly. Teresa was great about scheduling and Tim helped me load. Okay, actually Tim loaded and we watched.

    Hay Train

What a great set-up! Ironically enough, I just got in from loading a gooseneck trailer with hay.

    How long at Battle Creek?

My EUC for Event 5068 was sent to Battle Creek 03/24/2010. Nuttin' yet.

First Aid Kit and Fire Extingusher

I carry an ABC fire extinguisher in the deuce, one in my pickup truck and one on each of our farm tractors. I have a fear of helplessly watching a small, easily-contained fire become a huge fire and consume an expensive piece of equipment because I didn't bother to carry an inexpensive fire...

anyone near Pineville, KY or north of Knoxville, TN

I am about an hour northwest of Pineville and am located very close to I-75. I don't mind to try to help you find a place to park them if you wind up in a time crunch. Also, I work with a guy that used to be the supervisor at the Pineville Forestry Office. If you need it, I have contact...

    KY recovery question (temp tags?)

If you don't farm any, I think the historic tags are the way to go. But, if you do become a chicken farmer, you could haul them around in the back of your "little deuce coop." I apologize for the horrible pun.

    KY recovery question (temp tags?)

I think the 150 mile limit you mentioned relates to commercial driver license exceptions for trucks with farm tags. If your vehicle exceeds 26000 GVW you normally have to possess a CDL to operate it unless it's used for agrcultural purposes. But, there's a 150 mile operational limit. That's the...

    KY recovery question (temp tags?)

As I recall, you don't have to pay Kentucky sales tax on the purchase price if you register it as a historic vehicle. However, I think there may be restrictions on use (e.g., parades, car shows, etc.). Your county clerk's office should be able to clarify both issues. I opted to put farm tags...

    tire pressure

My local Michelin dealer wasn't familiar with military tires, but their general advice was to carry about 15 p.s.i. more in the steering axle tires.

Legal issues with transporting "troops" in a Deuce

Someone may have already posted this, but here's a website that summarizes state laws about transportation of passengers in truck cargo areas. Although it is not a substitute for legal advice, it may prove useful. Cargo area laws

    Oil rcommendations for multifual engines?

I use Chevron Delo 15W40 in our Deuce and in our farm tractors and have had good luck. That being said, I also think the Shell Rotella 15W40 is an excellent choice.
