$500 is a steal. It is worth twice that in scrap but if you scrap it your mother will disown you. parts are out there and it is a great pastime tinkering with those things.

Why not bob something a bit newer. The 211 is somewhat of a classic and yes parts are a bit of a challenge to find but they are out there. Parts trucks are seen all the time and parts can be purched from several vendors.

How can anyone bash a gasser. My 302 is a mechanics dream and I am sure the 331 is also a work of art. Those diesels are the ugly duckling of motors and if anyone bashes the diesel it will be no skin off my nose. OK folks......ya got my two cents worth. Let the fights begin...lol

It just may qualify for a slow moveing vehicle triangle and you will eliminate even the plate requirement. The key is a designed speed not over 45. Down hill in a tail wind doesn't count. farm plates have a 200 mile range limit and a few other restrictions but I keep my truck on...

I'm not sure if a Tx intra State CDL would be a bit simpler but it's worth a look. Farmers get a seasonal intra state CDL for their equipment to avoid a federal hassel and drive in Tx. only.
