OK, so I believe I have narrowed it down to the drivers side air pack, which is the one that works the rear wheels. My question is: WHERE is the best place to buy one of these either new or used for a reasonable price? Does it matter what version ("new" or "old") I buy? I don't have the...
I've looked around here and searched a fair amount and did not see any threads describing a problem I'm having with my M35A3. Basically what's going on is the first time I apply my brakes after starting the truck up, all 4 rear wheels stayed LOCKED. Now, I can get them to release, but only by...
Wow, I hope you are right!
Thats great news. I sure hope you are right that there are big batches coming soon. That would be a lot of fun and certainly a great thing for the military vehicle enthusiast community. About two years ago or so I made a post in this thread stating how I was seeing...
Spacers to put hummer wheels on M1008
I have a set of 4 of these 12 bolt wheels with the 37 inch OZ military tires off the newer style M101a3 trailers and I want to mount them on my M1008.
Where do you get the spacers (or hub extensions, etc?) that are needed to get these to mount up? What...
I have been wanting to install a manual trans into my M1009 blazer for a while. I think its finally time. QUESTION: What widely/cheaply available 5-SPEED manual transmission would be best or easiest to use? I believe the old Muncie 4-speed manuals that were in many GM trucks from the 1980's...
Slightly off topic question, but I think I may have found a cucv blazer that had a 6.5L swapped into it for sale near me. When I go look at it, is there any quick way to tell a 6.2 vs. 6.5 by looking at it? Is there a tell tale sign to look for? Or stampings somewhere visibile on the engine...
I pulled some substantial property out of Richmond and had a very different experience with that Michael Silver....
He was NOT at the site when he said he would be. And his phone was going directly to voicemail.... We waited there for 2 hours and kept trying to call him. When he finally...
Another really nice (although more expensive) option is to get a 2 1/16 diesel tach from ISSPRO Gauges. It installs very cleanly in the space to the left of your voltmeter on the upper right of the cluster. Some contact truck M1028's I have seen have had this exact ISSPRO tach/set up and that...
Yup, there is surely more here than what meet the eye with GL. The more I read about them the worse it gets. They are owned by liquidity services, which is a D.C. based company. Govliquidation is an LLC registered in the state of delaware (known to have the most lenient corp governance of...
Recently many A2's have been selling above $3k and I have seen many cleaner ones up to $5k+. And my point is, saying "unknown" is actually better than saying "left for dead" or "engine seized" or "canabalized" or "lot damaged" etc. Generally, they only state known positives, not negatives...
Yes they will. G.L. loves the veil of the "unknown". This is their trump card and is an essential part of how they make their money. As you said, FireFighterHill, they will just relist it as "ran when parked" and make just as much, if not more. Some other poor sap will buy that one and get a...
Ok, so we both agree prices are high.
On condition.... THere is no excuse for laziness. GSA does better condition reports than G.L. and they are getting ZERO FEE. GSA at least states when something is blatantly wrong. The reason G.L. doesnt state anything about the vehicle other than...
yeah, right...a background problem.
Here's the deal....
As much as GL wants you to believe, they are NOT the government and actually a for profit private company, which I'm sure most of you know. I think the way they present themselves on the internet, etc. and their marketing makes that...
GL is a horrible, corrupt organization and the whole system is horrible. I predict they will lose their contract due to unethical business practices. They are a greedy, inefficient organization and justice will be served to them one daY. From what I have seen in dealing with them over the...
Actually one did have a single alternator. I thought maybe it had been converted over to 12V but such was not the case. It still had 24v starter, resister on fire wall still in use. etc. Any ideas on the one with one alternator? Can you run a CUCV with 24volt still in tact on 1 alternator?
Nope, they ran great without the alternators. I did have to charge the batterys of course to get them to crank. But once running they ran and drove perfect for hours. As I mentioned, I have since installed alternators and restored them back to original configuration. But this one just really...
A new steering column from a junkyard is $50. You might even be able to score big and find a tilting one for a new bucks more. So, just write it off to "sh*t happens" and move on. That is what I would do. GL is a pain to deal with, truly a backward organization from my experience with them...
