Need help with MEP-831A blowing black smoke on startup

BobbyT, I ran it various lengths of time, the longest was around 20 minutes because I was thinking the same thing as you. After that I started looking at the fuel pump and injector.

Need help with MEP-831A blowing black smoke on startup

A friend of mine decided to get a generator just like mine. We looked it over and it appears complete. Some of the insulation has been chewed on, but all the wires and hoses were fine. We changed the filters and the oil, put some diesel in it and fired it up. It immediately started blowing jet...

MEP-831A Changing out the not so convenient Convenience Plug

Couldn't agree with you more. All the GFI stuff I saw working with the Seabees was bright yellow commercial items.

MEP-831A Changing out the not so convenient Convenience Plug

Guyfang, my plan is not push the 20A, instead stay closer to the 10A. I have encountered the same issue as NEIOWA, it seems almost everything is over 10A anymore.

MEP-831A Changing out the not so convenient Convenience Plug

Hello DieselAddict, I will go back through the manual and make sure I did not miss anything. Hi Doghead, yes I had previously switched out my outlet for a standard 20A outlet. The one on the generator was 15A. Greetings Guyfang, I agree there are reasons, and if you know what they are, I would...

MEP-831A Changing out the not so convenient Convenience Plug

Like many other MEP-831A owners, I have found that the Convenience Plug is not very convenient, the GFCI is only 10A. After looking around this site and reading lots of threads, I decided to replace mine with a similar GFCI from the same manufacturer, but rated at 20A. The new unit does not...

    M1101/M1102 Bows and Canvas Questions

Hi Bikeman, I'm not sure where the PDF originally came from, I got it from a PDF called ILLUSTRATED EQUIPMENT DATA REDUCED DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHTS FOR TRANSPORTABILITY OF VEHICLES AND OUTSIZED EQUIPMENT, but it was not dated. My M1101/1102 TM is dated from 2001, so obviously a lot can change...

    M1101/M1102 Bows and Canvas Questions

So if it was a first generation thing, that was then changed, is it safe to assume that the tarp was different and it has also been changed?

John My M1102 is the same way, which is why I am now confused and asking questions. Dale

    M1101/M1102 Bows and Canvas Questions

I was looking through a manual when I came upon the page for the M1101/M1102 and noticed that the front of the canvas is at a slant. I had seen one small picture of this and thought it was a local modification because I have never seen any other pictures of trailers like this. So I went to the...
