One other problem I need ot work out on the 84 6.2L CUCV I'm working with is a hard shift issue
Again, only 61K on it. When shifting at low throttle, it hangs on to the gears way too long, then finally smashes itself into the next gear.
Under full throttle, it shifts smoothly and on time...
Hey guys! It has been a while since I've had to post - just because I haven't had anything to add in the recent months. I have ran across a problem that needs some advice.
This rig is an 84-ish 6.2L diesel with 61K on the odometer. The problem is that it cranks without starting when just cold...
I lost the turbocharger technical manual for the deuce... UGH!!!! I have a turbo here now for rebuild and need a peek at it for a couple of measurements and torque specs.
I haven't had to use the manual since last lear, so I must have lost it when I moved!!!

I've got a pickle of a problem.
From 35MPH to 43MPH I get a shudder in the entire driveline, and it carries all the way up to the transfer case shifting lever, ringing it like a frigging school bell at these speeds.
Now initially I thought it would be the tire balancing, but Jim and Randy...
I wanted to know if anyone locally in the Denver area can give me a hand with some tricky front axle ball joint boots... I have put them on twice now, and I can't get them to stay put, so I'm wondering if I can "pay" (read: beer or cash or food or whatever) to come on over one afternoon and help...
I'm thinking about replacing the non-clutched fan on the motor with an electric unit that mounts to the radiator in a "puller" fashion. I realize it will free up some HP on the motor, but what I wanted to do is have a thermostat controlled fan pair, instead of a constant running one.
Has...
I'm looking for the winter cover kit for the front of the nose, and also Camo insulated cab and bed canvases.
I'd need a full "kit" for the cab, that would include the bows. Will part-trade for some extras I have, like a hard top, and green vinyl bed canvas, or some of the turbo equipment I...
Replacing Filament Bulbs with LEDs... anyone done it yet, or am I going to be the pioneer? 8)
Anyone have any contacts / resources?
How about load simualtors or whatever they are called; or is the flasher unit on the deuce not load dependant?
Ok - I've been on here for over an hour browsing all of the M35 manuals, and I cannot find a single view and parts content of the air horn solenoid.
I'm trying to troubleshoot mine, and it clicks when the tanks are drained, but not pressurized. I took it apart and all it has inside is a single...
Boy talk about a big box... The ups guy showed up just a few minutes ago, and made me sign for a package without anything else in his hands besides the e-clipboard...
He grumbled, "I'll be right back this is a big one."
I could hear the clank of his hand cart, and a few grunts, as he...
Hey guys, I was at work last night looking at different things, and I'm wondering why anyone hasn't tried to swap in a cummins L10 to the stock tranny or maybe an older Cummins 5.9 with the dodge tranny?
I'm not sure if the L10 would fit under the bonnet, but the 5.9 actually might, and it...
Here's my formula. Didn't need ANY heating at all to run GREAT!
25 Gal WVO
to
1 Gal EDIT: Naptha
Filter and let sit for a day or two.
Thined the WVO right out, and ran like a champ. Straight to the engine, no diesel at all in the system for the test. (drained filters and tank and ran lines...
I'm looking to see if there is any interest in a turbo kit for the Deuce that I am currently building. Because it will be so easy to replicate, I'd be willing to put these kits together and offer them to the club, at a touch above cost.
Here's what is in it:
Holset HX35W Turbo, new.
Adjustable...
I should have my deuce this weds! I'll get pics up for everyone.
I'm pretty sure it's a -1D, but could be wrong. The price was way right, and I couldn't pass it up - including the fact that the seller is paying for shipping!
Hey guys, I noticed today that the PCV vent tube that drops to the right side of the engine from the valvecovers is vented to the atmosphere on the truck I was looking at. Is that right, or is it missing a tube to go back into the intake or exhaust somewhere?
I thought this was funny:
Specs of the original M35 A1 Specs:
Engine: Continental, LDS-427-2 Multifuel, Compression Ignition, 6 Cylinder
Horsepower: 427 HP
Transmission, synchromesh: Spicer 3053A
Width: 88 in.
Length 262 in. (without winch)
Empty weight: 13,443 lbs. (again w/o...
I'm looking for a mfr. and model # if you have it. I've searched endlessly through the net and the TMs.
Looking at the boost and how it was set up, I thought it was a 50 trim garrett, but it is far larger than that, although the compressor map is a likely fit.
++++++++
I'm also looking for...
