    lockout hub problem

I have a '71 kaiser m35. About a year ago or so I put an AVM lockout hub on the front rear axle. Just recently I took the Deuce out for a drive after sitting for a month. The axle was in 2x mode. After 30 miles I was putting it away but I could not get the hub to move into 4x4 or 2 x. The...

I finally installed a winch on my 1971 M35. It was pretty much straight forward. Getting the knockout for the pto shifter out was a pain. It would not knock out. I had to drill a bunch of holes and use a chisel. The pto went on easily once I got the correct studs. Every thing else went...

Is there a list anywhere on the site that gives civilian equivalents for military lubricants? At the end of LO 9-2320-209-12-1, for example, there are 6 different lubrications listed but I have no idea what they would be in the civilian world. It lists general uses such as chain lube oil...

wWhat does the term "yellow metal" mean?

I'm putting a winch on a non-winch Deuce and found a post that said 80w-90 gear oil should be used to fill the transmission and the oil should be yellow metal compatible. Can someone tell me what "yellow metal" is? How can I tell if the oil is compatible?

front lockout hubs or rear lockout and axle

I have an m35a2 wo/w. Anyone have an opinion on which would be the better way to go - lockout hubs on the front or lockout hub and axle change in the rear? I have tried removing the rearmost drive shaft and it improves the steering but it is a pain to take off and put back on. Would having a...
