When I got my CUCV it didn't have a spare so I got the rally vent style at a local junk yard for $15 for a spare and a can of black crylon spray paint. Looks fine. Then I bought the black wagon wheel 16.5" from Summit Racing ($75/ea) and put the 37" BFG Baja HUMVEE take off tires in it after a...
Might want to read peashooters thread on the MRAP adapter plates. Even if you dont need the plates there is a lot of good info in the thread about front end alignment and steering issues, death wobble etc....
Have yet to buy my deuce (hopefully soon) but have driven A2's and A'3 in the AF for years. 395's will ride better and look cooler ;) Keep the NDT's as a backup.
My gen set is simply a Miller bobcat welder on my welding trailer. I keep in in a metal bldg with the batt disconnect switch open hoping that EMP would not effect it. About the best I can do right now. Would like to find a MEP for primary and keep the bobcat for a backup. I have a 50A RV park...

I just replaced them all with 60G's. Starts much better. Guessing I had some bad ones and like natem said, why would you replace just the bad ones. Mine were the original ones and I wanted them out before they swelled and I couldnt get them out anyway.
New glow plugs. And I put 33" BFG's on it. Now I have a 4" lift kit laying here waiting to be installed so I can fut the 37" hummer take offs on it. After I order the 16.5 rims.
Congrats! Great looking truck. Should do everything you need it to. I might go with super singles over the NDT's but the A2's seem to be way more reliable (and less expensive) than the A3's
I can see where you might need to trim some for serious offroading but this is just my back and forth to work when the weather is bad truck. Thx for the heads up guys. I'll let ya know...
Was thinking about going 6" but thought it would be too tall and have seen the 37's under a 4" on here. Lift kit is on its way. Will post before and after pics.
