    FMTV up close

RE: Lease / return...? I know I really dont car for them. They are an electrical nightmare for us mechanics that dont have the proper equipment to troubleshoot them in the desert. The wreckers do the job, but not as well as their 5 ton and HEMMT counterparts. The crane is in the middle of the...

    FMTV up close

The 2 1/2 ton pictured earlier is an unarmored M1078, and the one with the crane is an unarmored M1084. Here are a few pics of our FMTV's over here. One is our M1089 wrecker with the newest LSAC armored cab. The other is one of our M1078's with the older Add on Armor.

Detailed photos of up armored HMMWV

Hate to tell you, but the M1114's have been replaced by a newer HMMWV. The M1151 is the latest truck. Alot like the 1114, but more armour and electrical. They have been on the road about a year now. We were the 2nd briagade to get them, and its been almost a year now. The M1114's that are still...

You can chain the axle up to the frame. Just make sure you take the axle shafts out.

    Iraq Deuce

Well whats the point of taking the temp in the shade. We spend most of the time in the sun anyway. But to make you happy, heres one in the shade.

    Iraq Deuce

Dont know why it was left where it was. It was sitting by itself with rock piles around it from where the graders had been grading around it, and covered in so much dust you could make sand castles on it. Let it sit there a couple weeks before trying to figure out who it belonged to. No unit...

    HMMWV A2 Project

Very nice, let me know if you need any manuals or anything. They are pretty much like the M1114's and M1151's we work on currently.

    Hemmets in Iraq

The ones up in the corner are indeed an armored 113, with the cage around it, and an armoursed FMTV Wrecker. Of course I get to drive them all, Im the Motor Sergeant. I can drive anything in my motor pool. Everything we have, minus the forklift and M88, has air conditioning. So the cab temps are...

    Iraq Deuce

It should be better than the ones on GL, Ive made sure that it is completly operational. Its actually in very good condition for one of these trucks. In better shape than alot of them were when they were actually in service. It isnt that hard to get batteries. All we have to do is oreder them...

    Hemmets in Iraq

Had a request to post some pics of our Oshkosh trucks. So here they are. There is an LHS, a cargo, a fueler, and of course my favorite, our wrecker. The ones we have had a hard life. They were in pretty rough shape when we got them. It was a fight to keep them on the road for a while. But they...

    Iraq Deuce

Parts are pretty easy to get. The only thing that I havent been able to get so far is a windsheild. Everything else seems to still be in he system. Clutch, shifter, soft top, wheels and tires, wiper motors and blades, cv boot, gauges, cusions, pretty much anything its needed. That is an Iraqi...

    Iraq Deuce

Been awhile since Ive posted anything. Been stuck in Iraq since leaveing Korea last December. When we got to our FOB, I found an abandoned Deuce so I brought it back to the MP. Put some Optimas in it, a new clutch (old one was fryed, wouldnt even move), and fixed a couple other little problems...

    numbers and letters on bumpers???

The numbers on the left indicate the unit, battalion, div, or higer. I.E. D Det 546 PSB, witch was Delta Detachment 546th Personnel Support Battalion. The numbers on the right are just what truck number it is in the unit. I.E. D8, wich was the 8th truck in Delta Detachment. Some units go in...

A few Pics from the DMZ

We dont really have anything to do with the UN, just the name of the battalion. We just secure the DMZ and inforce the Armastice agreement. The flags are on the trucks for when we go inside the DMZ, guess its so the KPA knows who we are and dont think they are being invaded. They flipped our LTC...
