MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Thanks Tom, I didn't explain that I did take off the top and clean them up. They looked **** near brand new, so that wasn't where it was sticking. Ok, I pulled one of the injection pumps out, and moved the fuel stop lever by hand. then I pushed against the lever while it was opening the fuel...

MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Hey Tom and team, So, it's been cold out, and the generator has sat still for a bit. I'm back working on it. More to the story. It started right up after a week or two of sitting. then when we shut it down after a few hours of use, it won't start again. Exhaust temps about the same. Same...

MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Update to the thread. So, I've found some very interesting things. I'm about to take apart the injector pumps on the generator after finding that sometimes just sitting makes them stop pumping fuel. loosening the retaining bolt and turning it over usually get's it running in seconds, but...

MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Update and more questions... So I cracked the Pump lines and when I took off one, fuel starts flowing engine starts dragging. Plug it back in? All is back to running poorly, but running. Crack the second line, fuel barely dribbles. Ideas?

MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Thanks for the advice. I ran it about an hour, and only noticed poor performance under load, say 3000 watts. Startup is way more difficult than it was, before I could turn the switch, wait 1 second and release. Ran like a happy kitten. Now I have to hold it 10 seconds or so, and it runs...

MEP 802a ran out of fuel, is hard starting now, running on 1 cylinder?

Hello everyone, been off the board for a while. Now I'm enjoying my a3 with one less axle and a dump bed! Yay. But that's not why I'm posting. I have a MEP 802a that had very low hours. I lent it to my neighbor for their emergency and they ran 180 hours on it. Then, they forgot to put...

Not so much Mine definitely didn't fit. I just throw a spare in the bed and call it good.

Ya know, for $1000, you could probably find one of those rare 24v/12v alternators. has both outputs. Just a thought.

Young Guns got it. I pried and twisted and strapped the first few, and then watched a boot stomp put one in, and a pull remove one. Pretty easy. -boot stomp: put one side of the beadlock in the tire between the sidewalls and the other will sit up on the edge of the tire. Literally, stomp...

    Looking at buying a deuce!

Cool truck!. Hey, if you have a hole in your exhaust pipe, and oils coming out, and your turbo is stuck, you might have just toasted your turbo. Explains why it still runs relatively ok until hot, because it takes that long to start burning your oil!

@scopionf89- Dude, I welded the alternator bracket back together on side of freeway on my A3. That's truth. I used the computer to do it. That's lying.... Oil in the transmission---- Well, to be quite honest mine still has it in there. A good friend who has bought 6 or 7 a3's so far has...

    Looking at buying a deuce!

Don't give up! Like motorcar says, could be as simple as bad fuel filters. If you have access to a shop, there really isn't much you can't do to fix these with hand tools and a little time. If your head isn't cracked, your motor is probably recoverable. I've seen these things running with a...

Gr8wheels I read your post. Great idea of using the deuce to haul around an old chopper! Here's my late 2 cents. I have 395's on my a3. They are nothing short of awesome. I can cruise all day at 55. I occasionally sneak up to about 58. It's an easy fix for your blues. Now, about that...

    Looking at buying a deuce!

Wreckerman has it right That's not a $3500 deuce. Might be a $2500 deuce, but if it's got all that wrong with it that's visible, I might wonder what's not so visible. You should wonder too! I'd say flash him the $2000, and go up to $2500. A $2500 dollar deuce is hard to go wrong with.

Saw you had questions still about the evil lights. You may have them fixed already, but here's my two cents. (for free). If you have zero dc power, check the thermal breaker front of box, outside kinda inbetween cab and box. runs straight to battery from there. This should be powered. Next...

Hey Deuce007. Well, it's more likely you have a clogged valve on that tank. See if when you open it if you can use the tube from a wd40 can and poke it up there. Then, it looks like you're breaking out the manual!

    M35A3 tire changing to 395/85/20 part 1

Update time! With a couple of thousand miles on the tires and truck, it's nothing short of awesome. Been running at 52-55 on the highway, 35 around town. Carried up to 7 tons of dirt a short distance, and 5 tons 60 miles. Driven loaded with christmas carolers in the back, and driven it...
