    M43 Resurrection

She's beautiful, isn't she? Runs like a top too. She'll go faster than you want, because you have military bias tires hunting around in the ruts on the road, combined with a lot of body roll because she's top heavy, and then a tendency to want to dive right during firm braking because the...

    M43 Resurrection

Just a couple pics from the retirement home we visited on the way home from the Memorial Day parade. What a fun and rewarding day! Can't thank everyone enough for all the help I got to get this truck running again (including everyone who was pulling for me from several thousand miles away)...

    M43 Resurrection

Going to try to get it to the Memorial Day Parade this coming Monday. River (my little Shepherd, as opposed to my big Shepherd) jumped in and sat down like we were going somewhere - can't disappoint him. It's steady rain today, so no work, since it's sitting in the mud right now.

    M43 Resurrection

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement, again. Since it has become a multi-post topic of conversation, I was wearing a coat because I was fighting some kind of bug and had just gotten up from a three hour sweaty nap with a stuffy head and I was cold. But I couldn't resist poking my...

    M43 Resurrection

I don't know that I'm a great mechanic, but I drive pretty darn well, if I do say so myself. Honestly, better than most of the men I've met. No offense intended to anyone. I've just taught every man I've ever been with something about driving. Double clutch training happens a lot. Enough of...

    M43 Resurrection

The starter and gearbox together was the original plan, but time was a factor, so just the starter got done that day, because starting was more important than stiff steering. Fortunately, that truck pretty much just goes to the feed store and back, so it wasn't too big a deal. And it would...

    M43 Resurrection

This is a sickness.... I have it bad.... and it just never ends..... soooo much green iron, so little time...... and I wonder why I can't get a date.... For the record, dad was almost going to pass on the weasel. A few choice words and I got him talked into it.

T29/M29 - new addition to the fleet

Accompanied Oldfart on a T29/M29 weasel recovery yesterday. It's an adorable little rust bucket, should be lots of fun to restore and DRIVE!

    M43 Resurrection

:funny: Zout, Georgia has grass, Colorado has snow It's too #$@#ing cold here, So now you know. Thanks for the post, the truck is sitting outside of the shop now while somebody else's thing gets worked on. And it's been cold, at least too cold for me to want to grab a bunch of sub-zero...

I only wear gloves when the nail polish is fresh.

    M43 Resurrection

Managed to get a fair amount done today. Drained the antifreeze and oil. Since we had only attached the front clip with the two bolts under the radiator, I just had to take those out and undo the wiring harness (again). Rewrote the numbers on the little labels I had made because they were...

    M43 Resurrection

Well, I have managed to hire some employees, and so I think I can start work back up again tomorrow. Should have some TERRIBLY EXCITING pictures to post of draining the radiator, and draining the oil, and removing the motor mounts -- AGAIN! Eventually, you will all get to see what the INSIDE...

    Coming Attraction - project #6 M43 build

The truck looks beautiful, Zout, and although I know you have to feel sad to see her go , she'll have a 6-cyl beating heart soon, and who can't be happy about that :-D.

    M43 Resurrection

No slackin' for me!! The new oil pump and $300 cam with special spiffy valve springs is on its way. HOWEVER, I won't be working on the ambulance until AFTER I put the starter in my F350, and heck, while I'm in there, a power steering gearbox too. Now that I've posted this, I might get some...

    2011 Rocky Mountain Airshow, Denver

I would LOVE to have a rally somewhere around here. Just on my own time and in my own mind, I have examined the logistics of holding one. An enormous amount of work, but possible with the right resources (probably no more difficult than holding a combined training equestrian event). Toughest...

    2011 Rocky Mountain Airshow, Denver

Awesome job on the video!! I think you got a shot of pretty much everything. What a great time this weekend, loved the company, laughed a lot, got to see some extraordinarily rare machines and some old familiar favorites.
