It looks good rumbling around the town, too. :)

    AF Blue M35

I believe I saw that setup right after you hoisted it onto the 818... used a guy's logging truck to hoist it, right?

    AF Blue M35

I am actually kind of surprised it took you this long to do a Strata Blue truck.

RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY - Sheriff Officer Hit - could have been any of us.

This. Lots of people, especially on social media, where everyone's an expert, want to cuss/discuss every action taken by the cops. They have no frame of reference. First responders of all types (police, fire, EMS) have to make split-second driving decisions like this every day. Going...

    My US Army MQM 171

That thing would look pretty cool with a fake sensor turret and a couple of small-scale Hellfire missile replicas on the wings...

    FMTV Small Arms Mount

I'm guessing that when the FMTV series was designed, the spec. they used for the mount sizing was the standard M-16A2 with the fixed carry handle. The M-16A4 and M-4 series with detachable carry handles and optics weren't standardized until later...and if you look at rifle racks in armories and...

My Bobbed / Lifted Deuce Build In Pictures

Kinda makes all those jacked-up pickups there look kinda weak...!

    LEO + Municipal HMMWV Mods

Maybe you should be spending your time lobbying your congressmen and senators to allow more sale of parts and vehicles to civilians, rather than ragging on those who are trying to utilize gov't surplus to serve the public. Why are we dividing ourselves up? It's a good way to lose the HMV hobby...

    Police Dept. HMMWV

NE IOWA wrote: Or, maybe it's agencies that need heavy off-road capability for bad weather and disaster response, and want to do it in a way that doesn't cost the local taxpayers a bunch of money, and without tearing up expensive patrol vehicles in roles they aren't suited for. Check the...

    Armored Deuce

Probably Cat 3116's...they look like they were done on M35A3 chassis.

    Armored Deuce

Armored Deuces have been done recently, by a South African company that built MRAP's for years, down there. Of course, these were built by pro's, with hardened armor plate, kevlar spall liners, a fire suppression system, etc. Certainly not something you'd tinker up in the backyard.

    Birth of the BFV

It's a funny film clip; a lot of military (and even civilian) engineering development spirals are like that. But a lot of that clip is made up for comic effect...the Bradley's list of requirements was mostly driven by an effort (successful or not) to counter the Soviet BMP-1...which already...

    Run a 4 cylinder on just 2?

Current Dodge Ram pickups with the 5.7 Hemi have a setup called MDS (Multi Displacement System) that uses electronically-controlled lifters and an active fuel management system to shut down four of eight cylinders at lower loads and cruising speeds. The engine computer also turns off fuel flow...

    Ellsworth Deuce Recovery

Glad to hear it went well... Ray at Ellsworth DRMO has always been a helpful guy. I just wish they got more stuff turned in there! FYI, the coyote on the door is the symbol of the SD National Guard- their shoulder patches have it too. Nice to get a truck with art!

a terrible sight for a man to see

I just drove by the yard in question- I wondered what the deal was with the trucks. The DRMO at EAFB was closed down last year and turned into one of those crap-o-riffic "remote sites", where the various units have to make appointments with part time employees to turn in any property. Most of...
