    MEP-016D

I have no idea what the pump amps is, it was in the ground when I bought the place. All I know for sure is what breaker it is hooked to, and it's a double pole breaker and I have 240 volts into the house. I do know also the well is only 130 feet deep, which isn't bad, so a 1hp pump could do that...

    MEP-016D

This genset is 3KW. If you do the math, 20 amps at 240 volts is 4800 amps. I would like to set this up on a manual transfer switch to run my well pump, and maybe a couple 120v circuits to run freezers. I don't know the actual amp draw on the well pump, but it is connected to a 20A breaker. The...

    MEP-016D Connections

I have a the manuals, don't recall an actual "wiring connection" diagram. B it there is a page which shows a photo of the 4 lugs, and describes where to connect to for a given application, which is where I got the info for my post. But what it DOESN'T say is which is the neutral. Things now days...

    MEP-016D Connections

What function does L0 have? The manual says to connect to L1 and L2 for 120V single phase. Which is the neutral? 120V 3 phase uses L1, L2, L3, OK with that.120/208 3PH 4 wire connects to all 0,1,2 and 3. So is L0 a ground? A neutral isn't needed for 3ph.

    MEP-016D Wiring

Ike, Here are two replies regarding the re-wiring for 240V, from the same poster: What you probably want on you generator is 120/240 volt. There is not a place on your voltage selector for this but you can still get 120/240 with a modification On my Mep 016A generator, the only way to get...

    MEP-016D Wiring

Well, I bought/won one a year ago, and things have just gotten in the way for me to mess with it, but I'm getting back into it. My purpose was to set this up to a manual transfer switch for back-up house power, in which I need single phase 230V for my well pump. Since this isn't exactly set up...

    Mep-016d 240v

To be honest, other things have gotten priority and I've not done anything yet. Hopefully once the cooler weather sets in and outside chores slow down, I'll get back into it.

    Mep 016d

I picked up my genset yesterday bought from GL. I did a general check, it didn't have any oil or fuel in it. It actually looks as though the engine is new and never ran. Anyway, I put oil in it and some fuel in the top tank, set the throttle level down some into the run zone, and it started...

    Mep-016d 240v

Grega, thank you for this helpful info. My intention is to use this as house backup. Like I said before, if it weren't for my wellpump which is 240, I wouldn't care, just use 120V. But my lovely wife would like to use the "facilities". We were out of power for 4 days a couple years ago. Luckily...

    Mep-016d 240v

Thanks, I'm fine. This is my first time dealing with surplus equipment and wading through as much info as I can.

    Mep-016d 240v

Look, I am not an electrician, but I have been in the commercial construction business for over 30 years. I know and said, that there really is only single phase for house wiring, but there are still 2 120 volt lines, one to each buss. What I have read on previous posts about these units, there...

    Mep-016d 240v

I've been reading the previous posts about these, and getting the "2 phase" out of them. I know, house power is generally called single phase, but in reality it's double phase. What I've read about these units is they have a single phase 240 output. So, can these be wired for a 240 double phase...

    Hollingsworth MEP 002A

New here. I'm thinking on trying for one of these in an auction. I'm looking for a back up generator for our home. I have a better than average mechanical ability and have a small machine shop. I know when buying surplus, you are taking a chance, but it seems there is a lot of tinkering...
