Ok...I love the sound and yes I will do this one day when school is out. But now the question? The install shown in the video showed mass butchery to the keep me warm and cool box, was that a choice or just because it is a mud rig? I know there isn't much floating around about this but perhaps...
I suppose what I should say that I used the port that was being used to feed the lighter that was installed on the 1009 ( aka the pickle). I placed a 10a fuse in line with the feed to the Acc box. I am not so sure that these trucks came equipped with lighters or as it seems in the pickle's case...
I just installed a 12v accessories port using the 12v feed for the cigarette lighter. So now I can run the GPS on the phone. Well not so much a GPS as much as WAZE. I need to follow my SPEED.
I had been having an issue with the driver's door window hanging when rolling up...well I thought I was going to have to replace the regulator but being the cheap person I am, I pulled the trim and after allot....ALLOT of lubing the window works better than new....grease but before you replace!
I was wondering, being that the vacuum pump is a diaphragm style air pump, under a vacuum should the pump hold a vacuum when applied. In the processes of chasing down some shifting issues I wanted to test the pumps ability to operate. When operating the psi runs 2-12", If I am not mistaken I...
UPDATE.....replaced Gen 1 with a non Mil-Spec Gen, installed a cheap belt from Advance Auto. Hooked everything back up and fired the Pickle up. No surging on the Volt Meter. Ran for several minutes to allow the belt to seat. Checked belt, so far so good....Drove for a bit stopped checked mail...
I understand the use of the Voltmeter in your statement but as far as the last, are not the Gens interchangeable. There was an obvious swap out of Gen 1 because it looks new, so I can see a possible error there.
Interesting on the harmonic balance....I will look at it but the there is only one belt that is having issues and that is GEN 1. When running the pulleys do not osculate but I could be wrong on that being an indicator. There are no odd smells, but as I said I can watch the Volt Meter (gage) move...
Hi guys, My 84 M1009 has been eating the GEN 1 belt. This vehicle is a recent add to my garage. When I picked it up it had a new looking Gen 1 (driver's side) gen, real new looking. SOOOO after the install of the Gates 7575 belt it appeared that the pulleys were out of alignment. I wrote it off...
Hey guys, recently I purchased the 7575 belt for the driver's side alternator. It was not a good fit, ended up taking all of the free play out
of the adjustment to get it mounted. Just saying...:?
What did I do to mu CUCV today???? You ask???? After allot of work, well not really allot but allot of effort, I took the pickle out for a test drive and it passed! It is actually a long story but the results are well worth the effort...
