Actually that would be pretty awesome. I may start looking for a 4 x 4 MDT because it also would be great to have 10 lug buds and not have to deal with wheel adapters.
Anyone ever put a deuce cab on a MDT frame? I have a 1993 International 4900(2wd) with a DT466 and Spicer 6+1 trans which I was thinking of swapping the motor into my deuce. Then I thought, would it be easier to do a cab swap and in the process swap the axles and xfer case into the International...
I have a 1980 C-80 bucket truck that needs to go from Norfolk VA to Dillsboro IN. Truck runs and is pretty big, picture power company line working truck.
Thanks

Tried copious amounts of soapy water. Is there a preferred position of the tire? i.e. laying flat, standing up, leaned over etc? I tried wrapping it with a ratchet strap with the tire standing up to no avail. I figure this can't be too difficult since they can be changed in the field...
This is the first time I'm trying to mount tires on 2 piece rims. My buddy got 4 aluminum MRAP wheels and some Michelin XL 14x20 tires. I put the rim in the tire and bolted it together but the bead does not seat when I try to inflate the tire. I've only ever mounted tires on my cars and...
Thankk for all the suggestions, I verified both holes in the MC clear when I put the rebuild kit in it, and even with the service port plugged air exhausts from the exhaust port on the airpack when I release the brakes, But I guess it's either not enough, or something is causing air to leak into...
I drilled an 1/8in hole in the plug and the brakes work much better however if I hold them on for a minute or 2, the air pressure goes down and I can feel the 'assist' fade away. I can at least drive it around the yard:) I may try a new plug with a smaller hole since I don't plan on...
The brakes on my 1967 M109A stay applied after a couple pumps on the brake pedal(hard pedal, brake lights on, truck no-move). I've read many threads about the possible causes of this and have tried all the solutions to no avail. I can get the brakes to release by opening the drains on the air...
I'm headed from KCMO to 29 Palms CA along the 40 with an empty 24ft box truck w/lift gate on Thurs 29 Aug. to arrive Fri 30 Aug. On a tight timeline so can't deviate too much but wanted to throw it out there.
I just bought a m35A2 near Jackson Miss and looking to ship to/near KC Missouri. Truck runs and drives so I don't need it delivered right to the house, just closer than the 700mi it is from me now.
Well science and BS fought an epic battle this weekend and if it wasn't for all my fuel being in the crankcase vice the tank I would have been able to test a theory. I counted the teeth on the HH and cam gears and was able to turn the crank about an 8th of a turn to where I could drop the HH in...
With the valve cover off, TDC #1, the first mark on the balancer marked for the LDS 456. There was no marking for the LDT. After some work both the balancer and IP line up perfectly with the HH gear partially obscured by the metal allinment plate.(about 1 and a half teeth). I turned the motor...
Pics to go along with the above post. If anyone can't make them out the 1st shows the metal disc obscuring the small gear the HH engages with, the 2nd shows the harmonic balancer mark aligned with the timing tab on the front cover, and the 3rd shows the score mark aligned with the pointer...
Ok, here's the latest:
reviewed tech manual for LDS 465 since I could not find the one for my motor LDT 456 1D nor any concrete info on the differences. I lined up the mark on the balancer to the first mark which is per the LDS procedure and the mark and pointer in the viewing window lined up...
